Called a local business who does epoxy and other types of concrete staining, etc. to get a bid for my 1400 sq ft garage. They quoted me $3.60/sq ft for gray epoxy ("Rock-Tred") with UV clear coat (no flakes). Looks like the majority of the cost is in the labor. What do you guys think of the bid?

I just paid $2.50 a square foot for airplane hangar epoxy with full chips. It is a little harder then regular epoxy, and less likely to get hot tire lift.

Applying epoxy is measured in hours.

Prepping the floor for the application can be measured in days.

I would not trust any bid that did not detail the prep work and who was responsible for it.

As with anything here, read threads on epoxy installs and you'll see what people spend and you didn't give enough details including where you are and what is involved in your install or the present state of your slab

Slab is a little over a year old with no grease, etc. 5 stall garage. Basically a clean slate. I am in Lincoln, NE.

Wow...$5,040 for basic grey epoxy.

How perfect do you want it to be? Might want to buy beer & pizza and have some friends over for a weekend project.

Our floor prep nvolved diamond grinding and leveling the concrete, and hand grinding all the relief joints. It went far beyond acid washing the concrete.
