Good adjustable receiver hitch?

I recently up sized my truck and now will need to lower the ball on the receiver hitch for my trailer. I've seen some with "indexing notches" that appear to be easy to adjust, but am unsure if that's really the way to go? Other styles I've seen use pins or bolts to position the ball as needed.
Any insights into the best all around style?

Thanks for this. I see it on amazon they have the drop I need, and it's a litter cheaper there than on their main website. From the Amazon reviews, it seems like a solid product, and "reasonable" compared to lots of others, so I ordered it.

I've had to destroy a couple of them to get them apart, make sure if you get one it's properly lubed.

I just keep a collection of different stingers I've picked up at swap meets and yard sales over the years. Only cost a couple bucks. I was even able to pick one up on a roadtrip from marketplace for $20 in a pinch.

I tow a food trailer with 2-500lb smokers at the front as well as a Honda eu7000is generator on the tongue and the smokers usually have meat in them also and a 34’ enclosed trailer with a truck and golf cart in it.

With all the appliances and the refrigerator and the sinks and the water behind the axle it hardly moves my 1 ton suspension, it did move the 3/4 ton we had though when we had the trailer built, but we switched to a 1 ton

How many different height trailers do you pull regularly?
You only mention one trailer.
Buy the correct length drop hitch or two and be done with it.

I've seen a lot of fancy couplers on 100k dollar trucks that probably never get readjusted for different trailers height.
Mostly just a status thing.

It was cheaper than most I found and seemed decent enough quality. I needed it on a Sunday and couldn't wait for shipping which also factored into it.

I moved up to a GMC 2500 HD, which stands quite a bit higher than my previous 1500. Admittedly, it's overkill for my current travel trailer, but I wasn't comfortable approaching max payload with a couple of people in the cab with me. Likely overly cautious, but it's one less thing to worry about.

Thanks! Yes, I went with the diesel and hope like heck I won't regret it. I know I'll miss the mileage of the 3.0 but this bigger Duramax is a flipping BEAST!
I think I just went over 100 miles on the odometer but have only had it since last Friday,and can tell it's burning quite a bit more fuel. Hopefully it will get better as it gets broken in, but I don't expect anything like the 3.0's mileage.

There's quite a few at my daughter's high school. Big rims, little tires, 3->6" lifted truck with a big adjustable drop hitch hanging off the back.

I went with a budget model off of Amazon. It's served me well, but I'll probably replace it at some point. The B&W ones are nice and are what I usually recommend when it comes up in conversation. The neighbor uses one and I liked how it works and fits.

Never really seen the need for an adjustable hitch. All the trailers that I pull have the coupler set to about knee height. Truck hitch is at the same height.

Different truck / different trailer, doesn't matter. Nothing to adjust because it's all the same.

Big rims, little tires, 3->6" lifted truck with a big adjustable drop hitch hanging off the back.

Trashcan sized exhaust tips, tow mirrors fully deployed at all times, lights on the wheels and in the wheel wells, lots of tire tread beyond the body of the truck, blacked out windows usually with some window stickers of some tuning shop and references to Cummins or Stroke.

I have a coupe of the Anderson hitches, and they have been great and being aluminum they are not nearly as heavy and won't rust.

I have a B&W, it stays in the cargo area under the rear seat. I have three trailers that I pull frequently and one setting works for two of them and then I make an adjustment to height and ball size for the other.
