Good pruning shears and scissors?

My wife is a florist and is looking for a good set of scissors and pruning shears. She's sick of the crappy Chinese made ones she keeps getting and breaking.

Any recommendations?

You can't go wrong with Fiskars scissors, they even have one or two models targeted at florists.

The Fiskars pruning shears I have seen looked to be of good quality as well.

I would recommend fiskars but about half of their stuff is China now , they may have some Finland scissors or trimmers around though.

Can't read it , it's all in German.
Anyway view customer reviews for felco 2's on amazon , overwhelmingly positive.
Thing is though the guy was looking for scissors/shears so i don't think felco has anything applicable in catalogue.

I've got the Felco 7 model--they are very sturdy, comfortable and cut well, but you have to watch out for the spring coming out when the handles are fully extended. I dropped mine once and the spring went flying. What a b*tch to find in a pile of cuttings.....

I've had a couple pairs of Fiskars pruners and I am not impressed. I know there has to be better ones. I had a Fiskars grass trimmer break after 5 minutes of use.

20 euros for hedge shears , great value.
I would pick up a pair but i know the shipping will kill me.
Just done up the old pair of hedge shears we had lying around , cleaned off the rust , repainted handles , sharpened it etc - they were made in West Germany thats how old they are.

I got some of the Bahco really cheap at Harry Epstein and that stuff is nice too. At $10 or $15 for the pruner, I've given them away to a lot of women who garden and they all love them. Makes a good present.

Bosch makes a similar thing.
This one was actually made in the UK last time i checked it out at the local hardware store.

My father has the Bosch one. Kind of annoying, cuts slow and the blade retracts slow too. Also only for small diameters. I think i´ll rather get a good hand shear from Gardena, Bahco, Felco etc. or a recipro saw for next years pruning season

Corona. Unlike the beer called Corona, the pruning tools are excellant. I spent over 10 years working as a pruning specialist and all I used was Corona products.

They are the Snap On of pruning tools.

re: Pradines & Sweden. I bought a long pole cutter (whatever you call it) and the aluminum pole is made in France (presumably) while the blade (stamped metal) is made in Sweden. Got that from Epsteins too. Only problem: the telescoping pole: couldn't get it back together again after I took it apart. It's been damn frustrating. One of many little things on my list to do.

I am a Fiskars fan. You just have to find the ones that are made in the right place. I bought some Fiskars stuff in Finland when I went there. Good tools that are made to last about a generation.

No problem with Fiskars here. For the home gardener a very good choice. For the professional, such as a florist, an upgrade may be in order. If you use tools to put food on the table, such as a tech at a dealership, the extra money spent will reward you many times over.
