Hi, I'm having a hard time chasing up a 1/4" drive socket set that comes with sockets and extensions only? I'm having a hard time finding one that doesn't come with a ratchet. Under $200 would be good.imperial and metric

for the Gearwrench. If you're looking for quality tools at a quality price and don't mind non USA made, then they're tough to beat. The reason you can't find a "value' socket set with extensions, universal ONLY because it simply doesn't exist, they all come with a drive tool for obvious reasons. Think about it.
Infact In my book, any 1/4" SET without a spinner handle is a FAIL!
BTW check price of 1/4" mechanic sets on sale, you are getting the ratchet for pretty much free so why fight it? target ~$1.00/piece! I like to find metric sets only they are more compact-n-portable , rarely need SAE for the same tasks.
there's always that one guy in every crowdWell, you can find impact socket sets with just sockets and extensions all day long.

1/4" impact HAHA yeah right

I have 1/4" impacts deep set. they also sell them at HD. for cordless impacts is my guess...i'v never seen a 1/4" drive air impact, but I bet someone here posts one up, LOL...
hmm I didn't see any impact sets posted in the ' let's see your 1/4 socket sets' thread.
perhaps the geniuses can post an image there and enlighten all us why small fasteners need lots of torque.

The idea behind the impact set is you are buying them to put on your impact or air ratchets. Everybody knows you never put an impact socket on a regular ratchet.
