The local stores seem to have about a half dozen employees, on any given day. None of them look like CEOs.

HFH is a great organization as well, , but it's mission is totally unrelated to Goodwill's.

I got to work firsthand with a guy who went through their job placement program and ended up with our company. We had regular correspondence with Goodwill throughout the transition and this continued during employment. I was impressed with the services they provided and maintained locally.

They're not all the same. The one in Sequim is a regular stop now. Really hit-and-miss.
The partial P & C 1/4" socket set I sent down to @Smokeshow69 came from the Sequim Goodwill.

The Goodwill on Bird Rd. in Miami FL never has any tools, and it's a metropolitan area of nearly 3 million. There is another Goodwill (2125 NW 21st St, Miami, FL 33142) that does get in tools, but I've never seen them on the floor. They get skimmed-off and stay on-site, in the back. This place is busy, they get/accept cars, trucks, boats trailers, atv's, motorcycles, you name it. I've been in that lot, they have a lot of things. I think they must auction them off, but I don't know. I don't know if the machinery must be operational to be accepted. I might have to stop by and see the current state of operations and ask questions. They have I think a 3 or 4 bay receiving area, a loading dock actually.
