I have a gooseneck that has a 3 x 7 jelly jar. Looking for an e26 LED bulb that will fit this and be as bright as possible. Socket is rated for 100 w incandescent so maybe a 200 to 300 watt equivalent? Seeing some of these "corn" bulbs but many of them exceed the jar size.

subscribed, as I too will be looking for 3-400 watt equivalent LED for 18 barn style lights that I do not care to replace with tube type fixtures.

Those gooseneck fixtures are classic.
I have seen the high lumen corn lights in action.
I hope you guys have very high ceilings because the glare from those bulbs is intense. Maybe buy one to test it out before you invest a lot of $$.

Be aware that putting an LED screw base bulb in a jelly jar enclosure will shorten its life due to inability to dissipate heat. Lower bulb efficiency and/or high output exacerbates the problem. Suggest giving up on saving the jelly jar part or give up on high lumen output.

I hope you meet with success.
I use tubular LEDs in my garage, but my ceiling is quite low...7 feet.

Platonic has good advice. He knows what he is talking about.
To keep those bulbs happier, just omit the glass enclosure. The glass serves to protect bulbs from impact and the weather in outdoor applications. Do you need that? No matter what the listing says about enclosed fixtures, squeezing them into the jelly jars will drastically shorten their lives.

Corn lamps are blistering on the eyes, especially at lower heights. And unless it has a fan in it, I wouldn't put one in a jelly jar....even then, I probably wouldn't do it. Plus you'll have space issues.
A good 100w equivalent LED bulb will give you around 1600 lumens and will be rated for an enclosed fixture. Plus it's a frosted bulb, so much easier on the eyes. Once you start getting bigger, you'll be running into the space considerations again.
You can dump the glass globe if you want. It's only there to protect (what used to be) a glass lamp. Now you dont need it. But, IMO, it defeats the look of the jelly jar without it.
Good luck,
CD

Thanks for the advice so far. I want to keep the jelly jar since the fixture is outdoors. The light is above my garage door so id like it to be bright as possible.

Well it was too late to cancel my order with Amazon so I'll have it Saturday. Don't really have alot to lose. Paid 13 bucks for the bulb if it fails prematurely (if it even fits ) I'll just make another selection for next time.

The frosted shell should mitigate some of the harshness. Let us know how you like them.

In case anyone wants a 2 year update: The bulb started to flicker. Looks like it came detached from the base and was laying in the jar with the wires attached. I unscrewed it and put the 2nd one from the 2 pack I got. If I get another 2 years out of it Ill be happy for the 13 dollars I paid! Prob the heat that caused the failure but 2 years of being on dusk to dawn daily aint bad!
