Despite some warnings from @Hiball I decided to wall mount/lean my two HF jacks as floor space is minimal in my embarrassingly tiny garage.
I had the new SuperDuty upright in its box for a few weeks and no leaks so figured it would be ok. Worked fine when I used it.
I also got an inside track club discount on the one-piece handle I didn't need for $9 so I got that as well (to go along with the Super Duty I did not need as well lol).
The jacks themselves are sitting on some super uber-duty space-age high density foam (had to cut with a hand saw) I got with my HT speakers/subwoofers so they are raised about an inch off the floor and the jack handle release is not touching anything. The foam holds them from slipping and cushions the painted parts so they don't scratch.
For the mounts I used:
- One-by plywood I had in the shed
- 1 1/2" PVC couplers/caps
- 3" decking screws into the studs and 2" drywall screws for the PVC at an angle (probably overkill)
- 5" screw eye bolts
- Spring snap hooks/carabiners
- 12" vinyl coated stainless steel cables
- Krylon Fusion satin black spray paint (PVC prepped with sand paper and acetone)
Certainly not the most professional job worthy of any awards, but it is AMAZING how much room this has saved me.
Since I only use the jacks a few times a year, it is great to have them out of the way for the rest of the time.
The handle mount idea I stole from The Family Handyman; though they called for 2" PVC which I felt was too loose.
Thanks to everyone for the guidance in my other post!
