Got my Floor Jacks "Wall Mounted"

Despite some warnings from @Hiball I decided to wall mount/lean my two HF jacks as floor space is minimal in my embarrassingly tiny garage. :(

I had the new SuperDuty upright in its box for a few weeks and no leaks so figured it would be ok. Worked fine when I used it.

I also got an inside track club discount on the one-piece handle I didn't need for $9 so I got that as well (to go along with the Super Duty I did not need as well lol).

The jacks themselves are sitting on some super uber-duty space-age high density foam (had to cut with a hand saw) I got with my HT speakers/subwoofers so they are raised about an inch off the floor and the jack handle release is not touching anything. The foam holds them from slipping and cushions the painted parts so they don't scratch.

For the mounts I used:
- One-by plywood I had in the shed
- 1 1/2" PVC couplers/caps
- 3" decking screws into the studs and 2" drywall screws for the PVC at an angle (probably overkill)
- 5" screw eye bolts
- Spring snap hooks/carabiners
- 12" vinyl coated stainless steel cables
- Krylon Fusion satin black spray paint (PVC prepped with sand paper and acetone)

Certainly not the most professional job worthy of any awards, but it is AMAZING how much room this has saved me.

Since I only use the jacks a few times a year, it is great to have them out of the way for the rest of the time.

The handle mount idea I stole from The Family Handyman; though they called for 2" PVC which I felt was too loose.

Thanks to everyone for the guidance in my other post!

Nice. What are the 2 round thingies on the upper left?
Look like 5gal pail roller deals. I have a couple larger ones for some Rubbermaid garbage cans and they’re awesome!!

The jack storage looks great !! I wouldn’t worry one bit about standing them up like that. My bottle jacks are in all kinds of dumb orientations on shelves and in toolboxes and I never have issues with them.

Thanks! As jblnut stated - bucket caddies. They are great for washing the car!

It's oriented like a bottle jack now :D

I always push mine under/into something, so that no open space is wasted.

Funny you mention as I recall reading a post stating since bottle jacks (which these are under the frame) are stored upright there should be no issues.

I literally have no where to push them under lol.

Winner! They really help when washing the car. A 5-gallon bucket full of water can get heavy.

Thanks on the compliments! I'm super happy with the the way it turned out and, as stated, since the innards is just a bottle jack I should be ok!

I had someone all impressed when I hucked 2 pails of oil over the truck tailgate. Only ~40lbs each.

Hercules! Hercules! :)

I've lifted some heavy stuff (and still can) but one thing I can never count on is if my back is gonna get tweaked.

Bent over, lifting up a bucket has done it before so I'm happy to be able to roll them.

Interesting, can't say I've ever heard or seen floor jacks mounted on a wall before. Does that make them wall jacks now? :D

I’m surprised someone isn’t commercially building a wall mount for the trailer crowd. i keep one under the Jeep and the other under a tool box.

Quite a few companies do. I have one of these in the race trailer and it's great.

I wouldn't ask it to handle a heavy steel jack while bouncing down the road, but no reason it couldn't handle that load in a garage.

There's a tow truck around here I see sometimes with a floor jack mounted vertically on the back of the bed. It's a big 2 or 3 ton full size one, I wouldn't want to man handle it up and down, and I wonder if it's ever actually used. I'll try to get a good look at it the next time I see it.
