I recently inherited this box. This one actually survived a tornado where the roof of the shop was blown off. I've not had an old MAC box before, is it safe to assume that the 73 on the model stamp means it was made in 1973?

Very nice ! I have a set of MAC boxes marked "73" as well and I bought them new in 1974 or so. I think it would be safe to assume that's when it was made. I used mine hard for 40 years and it shows...

Very nice tool box. Looks like grandpa took really good care of it.

What are the dimensions of that box? It looks like mac's equivalent of a snap on KRA59. Would you mind providing more pictures of the box? Do any of the drawers have dividers in them?

I have never heard of a MB507. There seem to be quite a few different non common mac boxes out there. I have a MB310 that I cannot find any references on as well.

The most popular models were 510 top and 520 bottom, and then the 910 top and 920 bottom.

Here's a few more pics. It is 26W x 16.5H x 13.5D. Dividers in all the big drawers.

That looks really nice doan  Really clean and in good condition.

I can't believe you are swimming already. It's 50°F for a high up here today.

One last thing, would you mind measuring the inside of one of the large drawer and one of the small drawers? I am trying to build a database on the old matco boxes. I never knew how well they were built until I recently acquired 2 of them. Just seems like it is hard to find info on them compared to the vintage snap on boxes. :dunno:

Here is the only other MB 507 I have seen

Big Drawers are 24x12
Little Drawers are 7.25x12
