I have a LUCAS pistol grip type that I bought at Home Depot a couple of years ago, and carry it in the bed of my company pickup, and it has impressed me for the way it keeps primed. When I was a JD mechanic, and had my farm equipment, I had, and still have a Plews that worked great.

The WORST one I ever had was a Snap on one. (Even my dealer at the time admitted that that model was a joke)

grease guns hate me!
I have bought a few (cheap and quality) and never could get them to "prime". Tried ever method found an no go.
I just bought a HF air powered and got that thing to pump grease right away. Kind of handy, just pull the trigger and grease. Kinda of *****, hooked to a air hose.

Lincoln pistol grip is what I use, but I recently had to replace the one I bought in 1979 with another lincoln. Thing was wore out for some reason.

I have a Lincoln #1134 pistol grip that takes the standard 14 ounce cartridges or can be bulk filled. It has worked well.

I made a wall mount for it using 2" PVC pipe fittings and a wood board. It keeps the grease out of my cabinet drawers and allows me to have an extra tube of grease nearby.
