Great Vendor - National Tool Warehouse

Good morning, I'd like to pass on some kudos for a great vendor. I ordered a GearWrench 22 piece metric wrench set from National Tool Warehouse and it arrived in three days. It was in a canvas roll, inside a GearWrench box, inside a cardboard box. I opened the package and it was missing the 19mm wrench. I called National Tool Warehouse and spoke with Shirley, she said she would contact the warehouse and send me a replacement. I followed up a week later since I did not receive the item and Shirley sent me the FedEx tracking that showed it had been delivered. I never got it. I called Shirley again and explained that and they sent another replacement; I received it yesterday. Anyone can make a mistake but National Tool Warehouse went above and beyond, I would rate their service as outstanding. It is so refreshing to deal with a vendor that is so customer focused.

As a note, I have no affiliation with this vendor, this was my first order, it will not be my last.

Wow! NTW is shady and goes by a few different names. That said, *most* people DO get their orders.

I've only ordered once that I recall but they came through. Several stories of difficulties w them on this board, however.

edit: possibly incorrect, see below

I purchased from NTX- national tool warehouse many years ago. They were a bit slow to ship but they had great prices and I did get my order after 2 or 3 weeks wait. Their reputation went downhill from there. But they are still in business and I would give them a try again. They do go by 3 or 4 different names. The prices beat everyone else by quite a bit at the time making it worth the wait. If I remember correctly most of the order or all was drop shipped and most likely not in stock causing the delay. The only thing they did wrong was to not inform me of the wait. It was all name brand - OTC ball joint press, advance timing light and other quality tools.

NTX (Network Tool Warehouse / ntxtools.com) is not, as far as I can tell, the same as National Tool Warehouse, but there's not really much shady about NTX either*. I've purchased from them MANY times, and am incredibly happy with their customer service.

They do operate under a handful of different business names, for whatever reason, but they've not displayed "fly by night" behavior with those multiple businesses (i.e. shuttering one business, opening under a new name to avoid a bad rap, lather, rinse, repeat). I see the same from a number of eBay sellers (multiple seller accounts), so, yeah, I dunno. Whatever works for them. They're not really keeping it secret, so I don't ascribe any nefarious purposes to it.

Like most of these tool selling websites, they're a drop-shipper (they take your order, then place an order with their distributor (Medco, usually), and then the distributor ships the order to you), but, like I said, most of these websites are doing the same thing (Tooltopia, as an example).

*Yes, I know that a representative of the company joined the board a few years ago under a sock-puppet account and attempted to represent themselves as a customer of NTX, and not an employee - despicable behavior, and I can only hope that it wasn't sanctioned by NTX management/ownership.

Work ordered my ATD tool cart from them (same as the homak, but cheaper priced)

Since then, I have ordered some Gearwrench stuff from them and have had no issues.
