Wanting to see what you guys do to store them or organizers you have built/bought. I have so many in a bucket and would like to find a better option.

I have been thinking of hanging them on a rod or pegboard hook. Right now I usually buy them in boxes of 25 and just keep them in the boxes. The thing about that is I have no idea of how many I have left, so I run out from time to time in the middle of a project.

When I start finishing my garage, I plan on adding a section or 2 of french cleats above the work bench. I have 4", 4.5", and 5" grinding and cutting disks to organise. I think about a 2' section with 6"x1/4" dowels or bolts spaced roughly 6" apart will allow me to visually keep track of my stock. It depends on how many sizes and styles you keep in stock. With a french cleat system I can adapt or expand easily with scrap plywood and a little time.

I use the top large drawer of One HF 13 drawer box for 4 through 5" stuff; the grinders don't fit, and the next one down for most of my die grinder pieces.

Those HF boxes are really a bargain and can simplify a lot of stuff.

Some kind of flip storage in a box. Like how 3.5" computer disks used to be stored, or maybe CDs.

The mastercraft discs happen to come in a convenient storage spindle.

They also happen to go on sale for filthy cheap. At sale prices it doesn't matter that they only last 1/3 the time as a walter, they cost 1/4 the price.

Empty blank cd spindles work great, especially the 100 cd ones. If you have smaller discs you can put the outer sleeve back on and it keeps them nice and safe.

I stopped buying the Mastercraft ones. Yes they are cheap but they wear our sooooo fast. I just find them a pain. I'll use up the ones I have and buy good ones from now on.
they do have one set that comes with a metal case. i have thought about buying that one just for the case.

Not mine, but I plan to do something similar IF I ever get my shop ready to actually work in. It'll say Hammer, instead of Hester.
That's the best grinder/grinder wheels rack I've seen.

I use peg board hooks, but am now very envious of Hester Fab. That is great!

No Sir, not mine. I am going to copy it though, that's why I have the pics. You can see Hesters stuff on IG. Theres another guy (Rago Fab) building a rack that looks very similar to these for holding tig rods also, looks pretty handy.

I swear, you guys must have ACRES of shop walls! Every storage question gets a bunch of answers that involve many square feet of open accessible wall space. My shop has very little open wall space because I have machines and shelves in front of my walls.
I store grinding wheels in a drawer. Very space efficient. And I keep enough grinders so I probably have one tooled the way I want. Those I keep on a freestanding rack behind my welding table (with metal stock leaned up against the wall behind). So I don't need to store a ton of grinding wheels - what I own is mostly on the grinders. My motto is (when I can) "let the store store".

I think many of these features were built as a hobby and earlier on in procjects where the room looked huge. Steel racks the same way, I could actually out 10X in the same space and do. The early vision is 20 ft lengths which soon become shorts and I don't buy anymore to stock per sa.
These racks were pieced together, with another revision could actually be improved and organized some yet. I have been trying to use more than I gain and may strip some off not used to less valuable real-estate. There reaches a point where its easier to remove than to keep adding.
I can and might build a mezzanine yet but it hasn't become a reality due to the fact while its a nice feature I really don't need it. I was contemplating a 1500 footer in my storage and about 3 or 400 in my shop but if I toss some junk and stack a bit more I can do without and end up with a few ft of shelf.

I keep them in a side drawer of the tool box. I made holder for the small cut off wheels but not the larger 4" grinder stock.

Yeah man, Totally agree on the wall space. Its just one option, not for everyone. Hester is the real deal, not a hobby shop or a farm shop. He has a lot of pride in his shop and work. Everything is very well organized.

We use peg board for a few backups the rest stay in the box on the shelf so far so good.

6 inch long pegs on my pegboard do the trick for me. I keep all my power tools on pegboard over a metal table I only use for metal fab so all my stuff is there anyway

I'm only a DIY tinkerer, so don#t have that many to store and just use a diddy 4.5" grinder, but I get these from work and they're perfect. One each for grinding, cutting and flap discs.
Mine are in a drawer, it is packed.

I have 6k ft and watch the space very carefully. It would go fast. My goal every day is a clean bench and as much moved on as possible or practical.

Don't have any life of my old welding bench. I welded solid rod bent to a 90 degree and welded it to a leg. Had 4 of them for various types wheels. They were roughly 4in by 16in. Could really stack a lot of wheels on them and they were in plain sight to see what you had. I have more room now and have a dedicated 40 inch box for all of my metal working and welding tools so they are now in a drawer
