How well does the epoxy finish hold up?
The Blackhawk locking pliers might be a good choice for someone with a tighter budget. Made in Taiwan. And, like the Grip-on pliers, the release lever is pulled, not pushed, which is the way all locking pliers should be.

...Only problem I have now is I need more of them but Channellock doesn't carry them anymore. I know Grip-On's are available from other sources in other colors but I have a weird OCD thing about my tools matching. Its stupid I know but I can't help it.
