I did my shop in EMT conduit and ran a separate ground wires. Nice way of making sure you always have a good ground.
All the boxes are steel ( kind of have to for the EMT).
I'm updating a couple of outlets and the ones I bought are self grounding (that nice little brass connector on one end).
Basically, each of my outlets are have two separate ground systems, EMT back to the panel and the separate green ground wire. And of course the ground wire is terminated at each box.
I just cant bring myself to not use the separate ground terminal on the socket, ignoring that the part is self grounding.
I'm thinking between the dual grounds, tamper resistance sockets and GFI's I might not be safe enough. Perhaps I need to add a few AFIC's into the panel?
Just curious what everyone else does... Opinions?
