Looking good GB, keep it up!![]()
Thanks RW, you have got me wanting to get back onto sorting out the liftmaster 8500 now. They appear to be sold under a different importer brand here due to our 50Hz and your 60Hz motors being different in them I dare say. Thanks for stopping by.
That was a fun read. Took me a few mornings and some evenings, but it was worth it. I love the workspace for your boy! Thanks for sharing.
Much appreciated Unruh. Thanks for following my ramblings.
Nice looking welds. Why not just bolt the hinges on?
Kirk, no real reason mate. Just having fun gluing metal together at the moment when time allows.
Nice work on the gates and posts.
Just checking in while its raining.
Hope that eyeball of yours is settling down Terrick, that is an ouchy for sure. Thanks for checking in.
Last Saturday left me almost done with the fab and testing phase until I didn't account for enough left-to-right height difference in the driveway which was a bit of a ******, I had allowed for 2".
Spent an age too getting this all plumb and level.

Even made one of Andy's tapered shims (that concrete is not flat and level at the bottom. It's also very hard concrete, took at least 5 mins with a new masonry bit just to drill 3" deep on each hole).

Had I gone 3" it would have been ok

Needs to come up 2" more. The bottom black line is the concrete level on the other side. I've got it all mocked up ready to weld onto, so hopefully that can happen in the morning. Bit of a ****** but it is what it is. Could have been a 4" error and I wouldn't have admitted to that one

(ignore that shim sticking out)

It's quite windy here today with gusts over 85km (50mph). Hope that buggers off before the weekend.
Cheers GB
