Man, with no size relationship whatsover to go on it makes guessing the application that much more difficult. As an example going from that pic I cannot tell how deep the socket is, nor can I truly get a clue as to the OD of the socket, the only thing to compare with is the driver hole in the center of the socket, meaning that unless you have encountered the fastener in question you are pissin up a rope!

I am going to guess that the socket is used for securing the radio antenea mast nut to the top of the fender on older cars.

Not enough lobes for any of my applications, it must be the finnegan pin retaining nut drive tool.

Not enough lobes on it for high torque applications may be some dust cap retention nut of some sort.

One more hint. Its a 1/2 inch drive socket. I'll give it one more day then I will let you guys know what its for. I had never seen anything like it before until I needed it.

Funny thing is, I actually had a car that had headlight fluid! I had an '86 Isuzu Trooper that developed a gap between the face and body of the headlight assembly so it would accumulate water in wet weather. I drilled a couple of drain holes in the bottom. Problem solved.

Btw, I replaced the Isuzu name badge on the grille with a swank Cadillac one that I picked up at a junkyard. Now this was in the late '90s, before Cadillac had SUVs, and people were giving me comments on my nice ride.
