New amp arrived (on right). Controls are different to the first one. They actually sent me the previous version as a replacement. Looks like the controls on this one are better than the newer version.20211205_202518.jpg

Good deal, it's always nice when they stay in tune; so, what'd you lose on the new amp? Looks like one less control? And how long before the full stack Marshall gets there? ... Steve

Didn't lose anything on the new amp, it has more controls on the back that the other one didn't have so actually gained some functions. Sounds better than the original too... altho that may be down to it staying in tune :)

Damn near got all the tuners aligned too :)

Oh-Oh, looks like you got your E-6 and E-1 tuners swapped around; that's really gonna mess with intonation... Steve

"Easy to do when they all have a 7 on them"

Good one; I thought you might come back with "they're all F's, as in what I can go do to myself :geek: ... Steve

On Friday I was doing spiders & finger exercises etc, took a break for a while after developing a speed wobble/spasm in the left *bird* finger for some reason.... Then when I got back to it something suddenly clicked & I knocked out about 10 seconds of Dave Gilmour without thinking about it. Totally caught me off-guard & I just stopped. Sat there a bit stunned for a moment. Absolutely bizarre after all these years.
Didn't touch it over the weekend & today I spent damn near three hours at the dentist (most of it waiting, including a 20 minute nap) so didn't feel like doing much of anything when I got home....

Gilmour's solo on "another ***** in the hall" is one I always crank when it comes up on Pandora, along with SRV's Riviera Paradise or Lenny, and nearly ANYTHING with Lee Ritenour and/or Larry Carlton - I probably only left our a few hundred others, but WTF I'm gettin' old. No complaint, it beats gettin' dead... Steve

I love guitar music and have a very nice guitar, a Taylor, my problem is that significant arthritis in my hands make ********* cords impossible so all I can do is pick and strum . Suggestions for improving would be appreciated

F4, Taylors are indeed nice guitars; I've only played a couple, and they were strung with fairly heavy gauge strings. Going to lighter gauge strings could make it easier to play, but you'd need to pay attention to neck relief and would probably need to "relax" the truss rod somewhat to compensate for the decreased string pull.

I started getting the same problem with arthritis, so a couple years ago I started taking one of the "joint juice" supplements (Chondroitin, glucosamine) - I take one morning and night. It's made enough of a difference that I don't notice the problem unless I focus on it - might be the placebo effect, but as long as it works for ME I really don't care WHY (y)

These

Are the strings I've been using on the steel string acoustics - they seem to be slightly less volume than heavier strings, but these days I'm playing for ME, and I don't care. If necessary I can put the battery back in and run it thru the studio speakers.

The lighter strings DEFINITELY lessen playing effort... Steve

I don't know how far your arthritis has progressed, mine wasn't horrible when I started the joint juice but IIRC, it took a few months before I noticed ( or realized) the difference...

In this case it was part of Echoes. Messed about a bit with the Crapocaster today & it didn't come back to me. But on the upside it did indicate there's something still lurking within me.

"something still lurking within me."

Yeah, I find that too - occasionally it's even NOT offensive to actual HUMANS  ... Steve
