... As she grew up and started bringing friends over who had paranoid parents and kept their kids away from guns even toy guns, they were very curious about the guns. I got a safe and put them all away.
We were raised with guns, with hunting, with shooting sports, from the ripe old age of 5 when we graduated from a BB rifle to a 22. Now kids are arrested by brainwashed flock-followers for pointing at something, and their hand makes the "shape of an evil gun". Emphasizing the almost religious and ******** charged attitude kids feel about guns.
The sad result of a media-led population where you can be indoctrinated that "guns are an evil, nasty, horrible thing" and why kids, when they get one, are likely not to know how to handle one responsibly or have some icon fantasy about them, so when they get their hands on one they do great and grievous damage... because it's not a gun or a tool, it's a "worshipful mysterious power stick of the deities, and, gee, I get to TOUCH it (heart racing sense of daring added)".
And of course - if they're beat up in school, or a social outcast, or didn't get that A they thought they deserved, or Janey went out with Billy instead of them, or mom cheated them out of their $50 dollar allowance this week (and, horrors, took away their smartphone for mouthing off about it), then EVERYONE is against them, and, well... They can get a Deity-stick of power and smite them like they deserve... and THEN they'll be feared and respected...
And the media... gets to run more "Seee, we told you, all guns are EVIL" and even presidential candidates campaign how they're going to "rid our nation of these evil sticks-o'-satanic-evil" when WE THE SHEEPLE and the politicians who used it to gain power and office deliberately created this problem... and the nuts bought into it and spread it.
Sorry... getting off my soapbox now...
