Considering upgrading my Camera, any shutterbugs here?

Looking at some new lenses and maybe a new body. I shall find another addiction till I want something again.

Canon's new camera is going to be announced at Photokina early September. I'd hold off buying until some reviews of it come in, supposed to be a game changer!

buy a lathe or a mill, you will never be short of something to buy ever again :) A Morse taper drill press will keep you spending for a while as well to get a full set.

I'm open for gifts, , , , and adoption

x2 Or another option is that you can find someone who needs help with a project or 20 and then you'll find a need for more tools. Drop on by, I'll give you plenty of reasons for buying new tools. :p And as for that unneeded drill press, I'd be more than willing to take it off your hands.:D

Well seems I have gotten every tool item I have really wanted, what am I supposed to do now? I feel so lost! :willy_nil

I am in the same boat... I grabbed a 5 gallon bucket and started filling it with the tools that are not wanted nor needed any more... I enjoy my tools; and knowing that someone else can use my extras will turn that feeling of lost to a feeling of rewards..

Take up "do itself surgery" loads more tools to buy
Or
Get divorced , lose all your stuff in the settlement and slowly buy it all again
Or
Become a *** addict , again loads more "tools" to buy , might lead to option two though

MagnumForce-Yep, me too! I get home after after a long day of "wrenching" and I don't feel like doing too much "mechanical", but I have too-or it just plain won't get done. I have a large family, and just keeping up with what gets broken is a job.

Depending upon your age, and background, if your like me, you have quite an extensive history of what you can do. And when folks find out, you get requests...lots of requests.

For example-just last week I sheared 4 sheep for a friend, never done it before, but nobody else would do it....now tell me that don't open up a whole can of works of "tools needed"!

Dug fence posts, replaced the front axle on a 4X4 tractor, butchered sheep & goats, pigs too....loaded hay...you name it. Fixed fence/stretched wire, put in and rebuilt some gates...all for friends.

Its not just what a guy can do....its more along the lines on what a guy WILL do.

A handy Andy like myself might like to use good quality Snap-On tools. Lookup weird Al's handy song on YouTube. Some people take pride In their tools like they do in their work. It seems to me older people or people who have served in the military, seem to get this more. Some just don't GAF. This a direct poke at Cato. A joking poke.

To the OP, it sounds like you have had enough of wrenching and tool collecting. I guess you have reached a time in your life, that you want to do something else. Maybe you always wanted to. I would suggest joining a photography forum or a train forum, but don't leave here.

I like trains myself, and photography too. I get a real kick out of train museums, it is really something got see those big mechanical beasts. I like learning about the history, and looking at those big pistons and wheels. Then going for a ride on a train makes for a great day. If you live in the northeast, there are many. It is great to take a ride through the country side in the fall when the leaves are changing. Then you can bring your camera and can take pictures of the trains and all those great landscapes.
That sounds like a great trip, now that I typed that, I think I will plan a trip myself.

Buy a lathe and mill, build a model train with your new tools, then take some pics with the new camera.

I like both Big Pete and Big Plum's advice.

It is everyone else's blind Craftsman hate that bugs me, your guys stuff is all totally fine.

The world of a Maintenance Mechanic is totally different, has it's own challenges and Craftsman does the job without letting us down.

Why does every thread have to turn into a Craftsman rip fest?

Amen, Brother! I am in the EXACT same boat you are in. I will say that the Williams sealed head ratchets seem to hold up to the wet environment better than the old Craftsman RP's.......but I still rebuild them when they wear out and put them back in the box.
