EXCELLENT. I went and checked them out in person...man, tough decisions! I could put the 28", 41" and 56" boxes to work...where to start :headscrat

I had to let that one slide, he wouldn't budge on his price and by the time I factor in gas to pick it up and back, it pushed it out of my price range.

Thanks for the heads up!

I just got the Inside Track club newsletter yesterday with the 20% off 1 item, but it specifically excludes all tool cabinets. *****. It's pretty steady at $389 here, wish I could get a good coupon to bring it to around $300

I know what you mean. The 20% coupons do not work for the tool cabinets anymore :(

Do you know where I can get a hold of that coupon?

myke

I just picked one up last weekend. Pretty sure my coupon came out of the latest Motor Trend. Almost all of the Source Interlink mags (https://www.circsource.com/store/storehomepage.html) run HF coupons monthly (i.e. Dirt Rider, Sport Rider, Motorcycle, Motor Trend, Automobile, etc, etc.). If you start at the back and use the ad index, you could quickly find the HF coupon page and find out if you want to buy the mag just for the coupon.

Good luck! I'm filling up my cabinet this week! :)

I went and checked it out the box last month. Of course, it was sitting right next to the
BIG one, for like $600. I was like a moth to a flame and was drawn right to the bigger one. :)
Very nice quality...

Does anyone know of a coupon for the top box? I really need a good deal on it too.

The only one I've seen was in a sample flyer for Inside Track Club members that I snagged months ago from the store. Someone in another thread said they do have a coupon in the ITC flyer every blue moon. IIRC it had it for $249.

This thread will never die!!

Question....

I just bought the side locker and the 7 drawer cab to complete my set. The locker has a read threaded bar in it, but no instructions on what to do with it. It looks like it may span the cabinet from side to side? What's it for?

These just hang on the lower cab? No bolts?

There should be bolt holes. The 13-drawer boxes include bolts for side boxes and have threaded inserts already attached to the sides.

Not sure about the locker but the 7-drawer cabinet has a top lip that allows it to hang on your 13-drawer cabinet. There are 2 bolts that are also included to bolt the bottom.

The rod is for hanging clothes? Anyway, it goes in the top of the locker. Attaching bolts for the locker go where the cart handle was. Attaching bolts for the drawer cabinet are on the bottom (underside - you don't have to take a drawer out).

Thanks for the Hot Rod magazine tip! I want to pick up one of those 5 drawer service carts for Christmas. Then I could put just my most commonly used tools in there and wheel it around to whatever job I happen to be doing and not have to make 47 trips back and forth to the big toolbox.

Someone on GJ was talking about adding a magnetic catch to the side locker door, so it could be closed without having to lock it each time. I have been searching but I can't find the thread that was mentioned in. Has anyone done this?

Is there ever a coupon for the 7 drawer side cabinet? Also, can it be mounted on either side?

Yes it can be mounted on both sides, and i too would like a coupon if there is one on this cabinet, as i would like another.

Question....

I'll mention it - just so you {anyone} will know if you didn't already.

I bought the 42" side locker for my son - but it only came with one adjustable and one bottom shelf. So I ordered three additional shelves from Harbor Freight Service. They were $9.95 each plus about $10.00 shipping. That gave him more shelf space for tools that come in their own Blow Molded cases like electric drills, circular saws, radiator pressure testers, as well as a place to put battery charges for his cordless power tools. They arrived safely packed in about 6 days.

I also ordered a couple of the deeper drawers for my 42", 13 Drawer Roll Cabinets. One deeper drawer can replace two shallower drawers... and I needed additional deep drawers. The wide one's were $18.95 and the shorter one's on the right side were $14.95 {or something close to that}. They were out of stock in the US and had to be ordered from the manufacturer - so they will take about 6 weeks to arrive.

FWIW,

YES! Thank you so much for this information. I went to load the cabinet over the weekend and the one shelf thing just isn't going to cut it!

I heard the newer boxes have a gloss finish. Is there a way to tell which are the gloss finish or textured finish? I'm sure if I ask to check all the ones they have at my local HF they'll probably tell me to get bent. LOL

I would like more info on this as well. I have about a 3 month old box and was planning on adding 2 more early next year. If they are changing the finish I might have to do it a bit sooner...
