Here is mine after adding the side box and painting the drawers. I also drilled holes for the handle and mounted it on the side box. The paint job isn't the best but it is just a tool box.

OK, so far the lowest price with a coupon is $349. How many people have succeeded in applying a 20% off coupon on top, to get close to the thread title of $271?

I have been looking for the "Sale" add for $369 or $359 to be able to us the 20% off coupon, for a final price of $295 or 287. Once I find it, I am buying two of them. Just need to find it is all.

You only have about four more months of restrictionless 20% coupon use at HF. The Coupons that have expiration dates in March 2011 and beyond all have usage terms that the 20% coupons cannot be used on Parking Lot sales, BlowOut Sales, Thanksgiving Day Sales, Tool Cabinets, Generators, Welders, Floor Jacks...

My last limitless HF coupon has an expiration date of 3/2/2011, all the ones I've accumulated with later expiration dates are heavily limited as I noted above.

Current list of all HF coupons / sales

Back in Jan. and Feb. they had them in their ad for $349 with no coupon. Throw in the 20% and there you go. They haven't had this deal for some time. I look for it to happen after X-mas when everyone is broke.

x2 - I finally had gotten permission from the old lady that I could buy the tool chest because it was under $300 and now that my bonus check to buy the tool chest will be here WEDNESDAY, the price is sky high. :headscrat

in case you're on the fence about it, I love my HF tool box. It's plenty of box for my garage.

It would be great if everyone can keep a watch for the box to go back on sale without a coupon and post up here. I want to pick up another but would much rather pay <$300 if possible.

I think the only way you are going to get a box at a low price is if they put them on a good sale with a super coupon. If they are on "sale", after Jan or when ever it is they are not going to allow you to use a coupon, you are screwed and going to have to just wait it out for it to go on sale with the super coupon.

Plus, you can go on their web site and see what flyers are coming up and none of them have the box any lower than $349.

I guess I will use the coupons that I have for $349 to get my boxes:mad: I knew I should have bought them when they were on "sale" for $369 and USED the coupon. Oh well, those are the chances you take by waiting it out.

The Store in Fredericksburg VA yesterday (11/8/10) had a "HF Management Policy" sign on the tool boxes that said 20% coupons do not apply to tool boxes, generators, and cambell hausfield products.

Bummer, I'm going today at 8 to buy one. I hope they let me use it at this store.

No, the $349 coupon is a "Super Coupon". So you can not use the 20% off.

I was just saying that for the longest time, the boxes were always around $399, $369, $359, or $349 on "sale" or with a super coupon. Now the "SALE" price of that box is at $499:eek: Use a 20% coupon on that and you are back at one of the OLD sale prices of $399

I think HF has realized what we all are doing and buying these things up like crazy because they are cheap, BUT well built and I feel they are catching on to this and jacking the price up. I mean why would they all of a sudden change their 20% coupon to NOT include tool boxes? Because we all have been taking advantage of it and they can't keep them in the stores.

SO, that is why I just printed out 4 SUPER COUPONS for $349 and will be picking them up before the 26th of this month, since that is when they expire.

I hope I made sence............:headscrat

Got this in one of their flyer's the other day. I have never had a problem using the 20%off coupon on their sale items. Like others have said it depends on the store manager. What I have found out is that after they retrieve the item from the back and you are at the register they really don't want to put it back in stock. Hence they let you use the coupon regardless. Just my .02 I have allso seen that box on sale for 349.99 in the store when in the flyer it was 379.99 For you guy's that live in South Florida the Delray Beach store is the place to buy it. Never a problem using the coupon's.

Source? So far I've seen lots of rumors on the web of coupon changes, but nobody has provided anything credible.

I went to our store this morning o use the coupon and they said effective the 8th you could no longer use a coupon for toolboxes and compressors and there was something else on that list. Bummer

I just bought a side cabinet yesterday (90321) which is currently on special, and used a 20% coupon without a problem. Actually, the guy at the cash was so happy that I had filled out the info on the coupon before hand....

Exactly. Supply and demand. Truthfully, I sort of wonder about their business model of things regularly going on sale for 50% off or more. Customers quickly come to expect those sale prices and feel like they've gotten a bad deal if they have to pay more.

As I said previously, it used to be you might get a 20% coupon several times a year or you needed to know where to look online to find one. Since early summer, they've had one each week in the local newspaper. I go by the local store semi-regularly, so if I'm in the neighborhood I stop in for a free flashlight and possibly use a 20% coupon for something if it is on sale.

What it says to me is that they've got at least a 20% profit margin on things even when they are on sale. Draw the person in and don't make a profit on one item in hopes that they pick up a bunch of other stuff while they are there. But they've flooded the market with the "deals" to the point that a larger percentage of customers are doing what I'm doing - taking the freebie and the no-profit deal and not buying anything else while they are there.

Also, we're heading into the holiday shopping season. So they're figuring on having higher sales volume without having to try so hard.

On another forum, there is a vendor that has been selling an item hand over fist - can't keep them in stock. Someone came on questioning whether there would be a sale on the item and got all bent out of shape when told no - basically stomping off and saying it was "unfair" because they wouldn't have a sale. The vendor has been very upfront about it not being a high margin item and - as I said - they can't keep them in stock they're selling so fast. Why in the heck would you lower the price at that point? :lol_hitti
