You know, for as cheap as they are, they really are great. But the packaging sure has cut up my hands. My god I cant believe it stays together in shipping.

I just picked up mine over the weekend as well - the box is amazingly well built. The plywood it shipped in had to be the worst stuff I have ever seen - it splintered, broke, and generally was ****. The box was perfect though...

BEAVO: I would get the side boxes first. I like the cabinet because I stick my welding hood and jacket and such in it, also works good for prybars. I have the 7 drawer side on the other side.

Get them first. Its nice having the workspace up top. But then when you run out of room get the top box. Having the little space on the short side cabinet is nice for setting tools on when cleaning them up before putting them away, or for working on small little things.

I like the hansen trays, not necessarily cheap cheap but I like not having the sockets fastended and the easy Identification. But they are set in stone. For the other ones that dont follow hansens numbers I have them on manetic rails from napa. They are fully adjustable rails and very strong magnets.

I picked up the 13 drawer toolbox today!!! Very well constructed piece! Now I need to start moving my tools over from my Craftsmen boxes. I haven't decided if I am going to add the top or side cabinets, but I am in no hurry.

RR, Is your 13 drawer cabinet the smooth red finish, or the darker red crinkle finish? A few weeks back I bought the 5 drawer cart in the smooth red finish and the guys at the store said the 13 drawer was switching over to the same smooth finish. I'm waiting until the new ones come out so my cabinets/carts match. No one at the store seems to want to let me know what's inside the box of the current ones in stock. Thanks

Is 369.99 the best current price?

Their is a $349 coupon in the HF coupon thread. That's pretty much the best price your going to see for a while. It's been holding steady for about 6 months now.

wasnt a fan of the wrinkle red. I would pick up one in a heart beat if I could find the gloss red one at that price.

Easy fix..... sand er down and reshoot with new red, or black, or both:):)
That wrinkle paint isn't that thick so it was easy to scuff it down and reshoot with a red that matches my CF boxes.

Just curious, what kinda discount do they give their employees?

When i worked at HFT the assist mgr and the other mgr's would give employee's things at just above cost, look up the item number and the comp gave sale price, orig price, and cost. Normally it was near half or lower of original price. As a matter of fact i got one of the cheap 110 easy migs for like 20 bucks and the red 20 or so gallon compressor for around 50 or 60 i think. But of course this was about 4 years ago and im sure things have changed, it seems it has.

Nice looking' Job there. I'm wanting to put one of these under a gladiator workbench. How hard was it to move with the castors off and the drawers out?

It's easy to move the carcass without the drawers installed. Very easy.

I've mentioned in more than once in this thread that this box is easy to unload by one person if you remove the drawers first. If you can unload it from a vehicle or pickup easily, you can move it around the shop easily. I took the casters off mine also and mounted it permanently on a base.

How tall is it without the castors?

I'm sure I measured it, but I don't have a clue now. Mine is on a base to get it at the height I wanted.

I'm 100% positive it's been mentioned in this thread and on several others. You can search an individual thread.

I picked mine up today after using the online coupon for 349. Also got the matching glove holder, paper towel holder and magnetic tray. Anyone get rid of the casters and use a non moving type leg?

Does anyone know the dimensions when the box is still in its shipping packaging? I'm trying to figure out if it can be laid down in the back a CX-9.

Thanks for any insight.

Id estimate another 2 inches in each dimension for the crate.. I needed to remove it to fit in it in Jeep Grand Cherokee. Its in a cardboard box... Inside that it has a wooden frame work. Styrofoam and shirk wrap.

I suggest taking it out of it's packaging at the store anyway. These things come halfway around the world and can be damaged during shipping. It's a good idea to open it up and make sure it's still square and all the drawers are unbent and work smoothly. Wouldn't be fun to get it home and find a problem then have to load it back up again. A couple people here had problems.

Good point. The store isn't far, but its not close either. Thanks.

I picked one up this week and haven't uncrated it yet.
The dimensions of the crate are 44 1/4 high, 45 wide and 22 3/8 deep.
If you remove the wood crate and the pallet it sits on, the dimensions of the cardboard box is 39 high, 43 wide and 20 deep.

As for the cabinet itself, it is 33 5/8 high measuring from the bottom to the top of the flanges, 33 from the bottom to the flat top of the cabinet.

Cheers

Picked one up tonight and it fit in the back with just knocking off the crate feet. They took the $349.99 coupon without blinking an eye here in Michigan. I'm really glad I did not purchase the Craftsman boxes I was looking at. Thanks to all for their input.

I have a question for the guys that have this box. I am looking to pull the trigger and get one but I have seen that some people claim the long top drawer seems to want to rack at times. Is this true? Has anyone updated the slides to better and or stronger ones? Is there maybe enough room to instal double slides on each end to help with any issues. From everything else I have read, it seems to be a great deal.

At the top of their website is a Easter coupon for 4-24-2011 only, for 25% off one item.

Add the coupon number to the order and it says not valid.

Real small print under the bar code says "some restrictions apply"

I purchased the bottom and top box today.

Large bottom drawers in store had two slides per side of drawer, upon opening my box those same drawers only have one slide per side.

I wonder if I should ask questions at the store, or purchase extra slides.

They let me use the 25% off Easter coupon on a grit blast cabinet.

ALL coupons anymore have this exclusion on "percentages off"

QUESTION I looked at this set, today. I did not like the drawer sizes. I need 1 drawer deep enough for my DEEP sockets, to stand up on HF plastic socket trays. And a deeper drawer for timing light, scanner, vaccum pump, compression tester, fuel PSI gauge, etc.

Then I would like a lot of drayers, deep enough to lay pliers, screwdrivers and wrenches on trays, with out wasting space.

Seemed like too many DEEP space wasting drayers.

What do you owners of this set think, about drawer sizing? Thanks.

I am trying to decide if I can fit it in my town and country so I don't have to borrow a truck.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have a '97 T&C I can use. Will it fit? How will it be getting it out? That is the important question!

I had the 3rd row "in the floor" and then the 2nd row folded fwd. It is crated, and now thinking about that, it likely safes room as there isn't too much Styrofoam around it. It fit w/ plenty of room. Bring something to protect your bumper as we (HF clerk helped) cantilevered it into the van.

To get out, i used a furniture dolly under it in the van to move to the back of the van and then cantilevered using the bumper (protected w/ towel) on my own. My wife thought i was crazy for doing it by myself. I was a little worried about the 300# dropping on me, but it worked out very well. Unpacking it / moving it around once on the garage floor was no problem.

Bww, do you have a Chrysler van? If yes, I assume it is a newer version.
