It's probably more they don't want to mess up your jeep than if it will fit. I would not be surprised if the manager only allows loading into a truck bed with a forklift.

Lol. Honestly, they could care less about my Jeep. It was definitely more of a "I don't want to do more work than I have to for this 8/hr" issue than anything else. And you may be right, it could very well be the managers policy. That is why I'll be having a good talk with him/her next time to find out exactly what the deal is.

When I bought mine they had 3 employees hand loading them. They even in un-crated a few and put them in the back seat of my crew cab. I didn't have to do a thing but point to where and how I wanted them loaded.

I go a bit excited when I seen the price in title of the thread,, then realized the date ,,,:lol_hitti, but they are still a darn good price compared to what I can find here at home.

If you don't have access to a pickup, you could always use the HomeDepot rental for $20... you know there's something there you've been needing a truck for anyway.

Actually if you take the casters off the 44" box, it is a lot easier to fit into the back. That's what I had to do to get it into my Wrangler 4 door.

One employee and myself loaded mine with one of the little hydraulic lift table/carts that they sell (that's how my store loads everything heavy/bulky). I was then able to grab the pallet strapping on top and pick the whole thing up by myself and move it around in the bed of my truck (I had a bunch of firewood back there). I then unloaded it at home by myself. It is not that heavy, and I am just a skinny 160 lbs engineer Lol.

If the employees can't figure out how two people can easily load that thing in a vehicle by hand, tell their manager they need to learn how to hit it with their purse.

I was there yesterday and bought 4 of the 44'" box. Going to use Steevo's bench as my inspiration for a couple of benches for my shop, however, I was told the 20% coupon didn't apply to tool boxes. If you read the fine print at the bottom of the coupon it lists several items that don't apply and one of them is tool storage and cannot be used with other discounts. $389.99 is still a great price though.

I think you have 30 days with receipt and can get a price adjustment 4 units x $30 = $120 for more tools

Ok, I am cornfused. The ad reads 319 with coupon. So, how do I get it for 271.99?

Had trouble with the link but went to HF site to find the ad.

I just bought one for $369 yesterday. Even after watching this thread and reading reviews for years, I am still amazed at the quality for the money. I shopped around for a long time and I have seen similar and worse quality in the $1,200 + range.

I just picked one up yesterday to go with the top box I bought two months ago. Looks like I might finally be able to put all my tools in one place and get rid of the smaller boxes I have. Although I have a lot of tools I wonder if I might have to buy more to fill all the drawers. As I've heard said before you can never have to many tools.

Has anyone had any luck getting a second set of swiveling casters from HF for these boxes? Mine came with the standard (yet seemingly random) 2 swiveling and 2 non-swiveling casters and replacing those non-swiveling would definitely make it easier to locate the behemoth where it needs to be.

There was a whole thread about this recently. Search and ye shall find.

Greetings from PA, thanks to you folks and the review by Mister Moose I settled on this box. Seems to be well put together and have ample space to get things a little more organized around the shop. Looking forward to doing a lot more reading around here.

That's one cool box, or should I say three cool boxes.

We just picked one up for my Dad this weekend. Great unit for the price. Couldn't find the $359 coupon but did have the $369 one. If anyone has a current $359 coupon and felt inclined to post it up here I'd be $10 more appreciative :)

I had a $359.00 coupon that I got out of Auta-Buy magazine. When I went in the cashier said if I joined the "Inside Track Club" she could knock $30.00 off the big box and then another 20% off the entire sale. That made the big box $271.99 and the side boxes $151.99. If I had been thinking, I would have grabbed the top chest too. Oh well this will give me some thing to play around with for a while. Need to get some socket organizers next.

Well thanks to some tips on here I went to HD Friday and told the cashier I wanted the 44" bottom box.... Then I told her I wanted the membership and add the 20% discount..... "Ok no problem"..... Calls the manager to get code, I almost crapped thinking he would say no but at the end I ended up paying $318 for the bottom 44"!!! I'm soon happy.

picked one up today for a new box at work. had a coupon for $369, tried to use a 20% with it, no go. but i was able to join the inside track club which knocked the price down to $29x, i was very happy with that. I am a machinist by trade so we will see how well it holds up in a heavy industrial environment, metal shavings and dust are pretty rough on stuff

How does the Inside Track club knock the price down to 297?

Im not sure to be honest. I asked her if I joined if it would knock the price down and she said yes. I believe that she did a 20% off entire purchase after I joined and that brought the price of the box down. I guess if you factor the $30 for the membership it was $330, but my receipt price for the box was $299 I think

Any tips on getting one of those 44" boxes off a pickup truck? My neighbor will let me borrow his truck to pick one up, but he has back issues and can't help lift.

When I unloaded my 56" KRL761 alone, I backed up the truck so that the rear wheels are in the gutter. That makes the tailgate at its lowest point relative to the sloped driveway. I, then, removed all the drawers from the box. Then, I was able to unload it alone (one end at a time) since the tailgate is now only about a foot off the ground.
