Anyone have a current coupon with Barcode? I tried to use the one on this page, but they shot me down as it did not have a Barcode.

Thanks

Forgive me if this is not the right thread to be asking this. I've been to HF and looked at the 44" box. I have a Snap on 40" KRA series box. For the price the quality of the HF box is really close to that of the SO box. What I'm wondering are there other boxes out there that are similar quality to the HF box in the same (coupon $370) price range? I just want to explore my options before I go for the HF box.

I've been thinking of selling my SO box. It's a Dale Earnhardt Jr edition. I've got a collection of stickers I want to apply but don't want to do so on the SO box.

There is a thread comparing several boxes for quality. Very well done thread, but I do not have it saved. Hopefully someone else has a link to it.

On the HF web site there are 2 SKUs for the 44" toolbox, Item#69387 and Item#68784. The dimensions and weights are the same. Anyone know if there's any difference between the two?

I THINK the item #s are location based. One part of the country gets one and the other part of the country gets the other. That is just a guess though.

The older adds/coupons said that the "44" weighed 306 pounds -- now the web site says 245 pounds. Are the newer ones less heavy-duty than the ~2011 ones?

I would go ahead and get one. 20 bucks isn't worh the huge crowd and the wait time, getting up erly and they might even be out of stock before you can get one. I'm sure there wil be more people like yourself looking to save that buck. I have no patience for those sales.
Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome stage.

I agree with all you said. Not worth the hassle. Still, I thought it would be helpful. They have the BF ads in my local store now, so I might just ask for the price ahead of time and see what happens.

Guys, just a tip that may or may not work for ya, i went in saturday and told the lady at the counter i wanted this box, gave here my 20% off coupon ( that i knew didnt work on boxes, just figured i'd try) after she said it didnt work, she called her manager up, and he said if i signed up for their 1 year membership " insider club" for 29.99 that he would give me the 20% off. So just messing around i told him to give me a better deal if i gotta deal with the junk mail and he gave me 35% off, so the box was 369.99+29.99 membership, roughly 400 bucks then then 35% off that. out the door for a little under 300 for the box and insider membership! They get brownie points for getting members

Receipt copy? I've dealt with a lot of different HF's and have never seen them be this generous. You must have caught them on a good day.

They have asked me several times, but its always been on small purchases and I had a coupon anyway....not worth the hassle. I have seen them sign people up when they had a buggy full of stuff. First time customer hoarding or maybe someone with a business stocking up. My hf is pretty easy going

I had a $349 coupon that expired a few months ago, kicked myself for not using it, but ended up finding a used one on CL for $175 and they delivered it to my house. Still thinking about picking up another and putting a top that connects them.

Harbor Freights toolboxes are better then Craftsman,Kobalt,Husky,Stanley any day. Their toolboxes 5 drawer tool cart is up there with tool ruck brands if not more and least either. For the price you cant go wrong with the US General. Heck we don't even know where the tool truck brands are made anymore they could be rebaged.

its gone. cool 50/60's color. id rock one over the red

Seems like they would make a black, blue and ??? production run once a year to garner as much interest/market as possible.
I have a red combo HF set but would really rather have a black or smoke grey set.

I may have to pick up this box when it's on the sale. I've got a couple of mismatched height Husky base black cabinets (that I quite like, actually) that would benefit from being consolidated into one. I'd like to reorganize a couple of drawers that are filling up with materials that really shouldn't be there.

I want just the bottom. I have chests for more storage, seems the top is always too tall and cluttered and I like looking down in drawers, The 44 has more drawer units, don't need it for big stuff but for some more easy subdivision and to build a hutch on top.

I agree. HF could easily have short runs of blue, yellow, orange, black or grey.

are they made here in america or just chinese junk that hf sells

Harbor Freights tool boxes and chests are all made in China like most boxes. But these tool boxes and carts are of very high quality and just as good as any truck brands if not better. I have a few of them.

That's interesting, I wonder if they will be changing to black? That would be awesome if they changed from red to black as I've been wanting to buy a 44" but wasn't excited about it not matching the 4 drawer black tool cart I have as well.

I hope they keep the red. I found out too late that they went to smooth finish and looked everywhere, even called corp office trying to find a second one in crinkle finish bit no luck. Black tool boxes are too dark inside for my tastes, plus they show every nick, smudge, dust across the shop.
