Y'all think these are on par with the KRA triple banks regarding specs (not price!)?

KRA2418PBO: 54,839 cubic-inches; 39" height, 24" depth; 73" width; 18 drawers; 120lbs capacity per pair of slide
HF 72": 34300 cubic-inches; 42" height; 22" depth; 71" width; 18 drawers; i think 100lbs capacity per pair of slide

In practical sense, the volume is only affected by the user and their organizational skill.

The drawer depths on the HF box make me think there is a lot of wasted space. In terms of square inches a krl7022 has basically the same amount of space and a lot higher load capacity. Obviously the kra box above has it beat by usable cubic inches as well

Not that its priced to compete with them but the ones for ~$2200 from strictly toolboxes seem like such a better product. Nearly 300lb heavier, 24 and 30" depth options, more colors, 3 wide drawers vs the HFs 1, strictly includes an MDF top, 5 year warranty vs HFs 90 day etc...

I know the board would like a review, and photos, on the Extreme, then we could compare the two boxes...

Check the site, tons of reviews, some quite lengthy, many have photos. Third link is the box he purchase I believe. The Extreme cant even be compared. SS top, 910lb, 30" depth, 250-500lb per drawer weight limits. The HF sounds like a toy compared to that.

I think I like the previous 72" offering better with the 20 drawers vs. this one with the 18. And yeah, they'll def. have to figure something out with that price...b/c at that level, other brands would start to be considered in my opinion.

That's what I meant when I opened this thread...

It is priced too high...:sad::sad::sad:

A more reasonable price would be from $ 999.99 to $ 1,099.99...the latter would give HF "couponing" room...:bowdown::bowdown:

The Extreme is a much nicer cabinet, and, it should be, at the price difference...:bounce::bounce::bounce:

My "delusion" was the Extreme 55" Professional at $ 2,795.00...but my wife bought me a HF 56" roller cabinet for Christmas, which is all I really needed...it's difficult to determine what is a "Need" and a "Want", sometimes...

The HF 72" is more of a "Need" for the unprofessional among us...the rollers in the $ 2,000.00+ category are a "Want" for the home DIY'er, like me...

I think the original price was a "let's see if we can sell them for this" price...:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Obviously, the customer said, "Nope...":lol_hitti

Ergo, the $ 999.00 coupon has arrived...:rocker:

Those HF folks ain't dumb...;);)

The coupon code posted above "30648641" works one the website...presto $ 500.00 off the original selling price...:D:D:D

Do you think Harbor Freight has someone watching us???:evil::evil:

Is this the 'standard' layout or similar enough to most other 72" boxes? I was expecting more thinner drawers, especially in the middle section. I thought the height of drawers/lack of more thin drawers was the main drawback of the 56". Maybe with less metal for the drawers, fewer casters are needed? I would be very interested to see if there are mount holes for the extras and/or easily modded. my HF didn't have one in last time I was there.

Really the only thing I know to compare in this size are some SO (don't know the model, maybe the epiq) and macsimizer and neither are close to a valid comparison.

If anyone finds part numbers for the castors I'd greatly appreciate if you posted them! :)

shows the current coupon, which is 999. All HF boxes list for higher than they sell most of the time. The 5 drawer cart, as we know, goes for about 150-170 depending on current sales/coupons, but the "regular" price is $299. it says online exclusive on the coupon.

I called the harbor freight stores around me and they don't have them In stock I don't want to pay 96 extra to ship the item so I guess I gotta wait until it's in stores

It was similar when the 56" top box first came out. It was a couple months before they started showing up in stores. Some stores had it, and others didn't. Then everyone had it and then everyone was sold out until they could get restocked. So far, the only place where you can find the 72" box listed is on the website. There is no mention of it in the February sales flier, and probably won't be until at least April. That's why I wasn't surprised that there were no coupons until just a few days ago. It may not even be in the warehouse yet.

I'm very happy with my 56" roller....

The 72" would be overkill in my case...

Some people "Need" the bigger box...

At the $ 999.99 coupon price, it's a good deal...

I might have to get me one of these eventually. All though a used 22 drawer macsimizer is what I would really like to eventually have.

For almost the same money you could get three 44" boxes wouldn't this make more sense if sheer volume was the objective. I appreciate that the 72" is deeper but the 4" increased depth will never make up the difference. In another post I questioned the long term durability of the 72" compared to the 44" assuming they were constructed using similar designs and equivalent gauge materials. The smaller spans of the 44" would yield a much "tighter" box.

Just a thought, curious what others think

It would seem that Harbor freight has decided to give the 44" and 56" a big brother...:scared::scared::scared:

I looked, but didn't find any other threads on this, so, here goes...

Item#.....61656
Price.......$ 1,499.99
Wt..........528 lbs
Depth.....22 5/16"

Wonder how long before the top box comes out???:drool::drool:

Finally---a long top drawer...

That price seems about $ 400.00 high to me...

Why not go crazy and paint it harbor freight orange? Oh right they don't do orange any more. They should paint it orange anyway.
