Mine is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I doubt I'll get a review up very quickly though and I don't keep a camera at work and my dumbphone ***** at pics so...?

Once I get it unpacked I can give my first impressions though.

I plan on getting one by the end of the month before the coupon expires. I just gotta figure out details on how to get it to my work.

No truck or anything that can haul it. I work overnights at the airport, so having them drop it off there is pretty much out of the question. Hopefully I can find a friend with a trailer or really big pickup.

I am waiting for the store to get it and I will be buying one

I ordered one and it should be here tomorrow. My local store manager said they won't be able to carry them for now as their little fork lift suffers with the 56" cabinet according to him so they have no way to load it. He did say that if I liked the 56" cabinet then I should like this cabinet as it is on par quality wise.

I guess I will find out tomorrow if I made the right call to order without seeing it.:dunno:

Rent a Load-N-Go truck from Home Depot or Lowes. Those are $20/hr, I think.

I got mine today. It's a nice box. Definitely not SO quality or anything but it's $6K cheaper so there you go. It comes with 2 handles you have to put on. The nuts are pre-welded inside so you don't have to take drawers out or anything, just screw them in... well, except on mine. There are 4 holes per handle in the side of the box. 2 are for the screws and 2 are for ******* on the handles to sit in for added strength. One side was fine but I had to drill out the other side ****** holes bigger because the ******* wouldn't fit. No biggie took 30 seconds.

It was crated up good but did have a small ding on the aluminum strip on one side at the bottom. Again no biggie to me. This is why I spent $1K and not 7. All the drawer liners were preinstalled which I thought was cool. I was expecting to spend some time cutting them up for each drawer.

This thing is heavy! Even empty it took some pushing to move it around.

Here's a pic next to my cart.

Ugh..why couldn't the 56" have that same full length top drawer. That 72" looks very nice kball. It doesn't look out of place next to the mac box.

Very nice!

Did you have it shipped to your house? How much?? Did they have any trouble unloading with a lift gate?

I had it delivered to work where we have forklifts. I think it was around $89 for shipping. A liftgate truck would have been another $90 or so.

I had my 56" delivered to the house two months ago...

Conway is HF's freight company...

The lift gate service for my 56" was $ 30.00...

I would assume that the charges would be the same for the 72" box...

That looks like a pretty sweet deal at $1k.

Does anybody have a part# for those suspension wheels yet? Would love to get my hands on some of those.

Well, mine did arrive today. There was no additional lift gate charge so that was a bonus. The quality is the same as the 56" cabinet so no surprises there. The casters seem beefy but I will be using it a metal frame so I will have to store those until I can think of a future project for them.

It will be nice to have almost 52" in the large single drawer to store sockets etc. I started making a special socket and ratchet insert for the 56" cabinet but now seeing the drawer size I am going to modify my design to accommodate the larger drawer.

This will make a nice work surface for the hutch I am building.

Wow looking good! I am envious of that top drawer! I wish my 56 had the full length drawer. Either way these are some well built boxes for the cost.

Can you please measure the depth of the drawers and the overall measurements of the cabinet and get back to us. It looks like the new version doesn't have the same depth as the previous version from the printed materials but I'm interested to know if that was an error on HF's part.

I have the 56 HF. I think the 72" Masterforce from Menards is a better deal than the 72" HF. There are three long drawers instead of one, it's 24" deep instead of 22", there are more color choices and they sell various tops for a good price.

James
I really like the look of the Masterforce boxes. The only problem I see with them is the drawers are really short. I think menards site said they were 1 3/4" where the HF boxes are about 2 5/8" on the shorter drawers. It seems like pliers and wrench racks would be a problem...but they do look great.

Dont be worried about the drawers. I got a 56 Masterforce and I have no problem laying most pliers straight up. A Channellocks 440 stands straight up.

I think the drawer selection really ruins the Menards 72". It's arguably worse than the HF.

I called HF CS to request a price on the castor set from this box and they don't offer replacements at this time. I asked if they would offer them later and she said they have no way of telling. I wanted to put a set of these castors on my 44" but guess I'll have to check back after its been out a little longer.

I agree with you, but the 2 correctly placed center casters are what make it less sketchy.
Still want the 72" by the way, just dont have the room.

And it would really be nice if someone would post an in-depth review of the new box...

Thanks to those of you that have posted...:beer:

If I was in the US, I would buy 1.

Who is going to be the first person with a Mr. Big HF combo!

It's only been available for the past several days. You have to give people the chance to spend a G from HF, sight unseen (in person) and then wait for it to get shipped. Probably not going to see hundreds of guys with one in their home before HF gets one in the store for you to touch.

This thread is going to be 20 pages long at some point with plenty of photos, you are just going to have to be patient.
