So I couldn't find anyone that has done this on the internet but here is a harbor freight 72" with the side lockers / cabinets. Unfortunately all the attachments are designed around the 44" box but since they use a rather standard mounting I think they all will work with any combination of boxes etc.

As far as using these on the 72, they hang like normal on the lip of the box and you can use 1 of the pre-drilled holes that the handle would normally be on, the other hole doesn't line up so you could drill and thread it but unless your putting a ton of weight in it I think its fine.

Looks great.. All you need to do is make a wooden frame and hang some peg board or shelves between the the two lockers and create some more storage..

Yup, I was thinking the same thing. With all the stuff they are coming out with for these boxes you would think they would just go all out and make hutches etc too.

Yea if it was mine, I'd seriously consider "enclosing" the open space.. Plywood top stretched between the lockers, and a pegboard or plywood back from the top of the roll cab to the top of the lockers.. It would basically be a "hutch" kinda , just no locking doors.. Great place to keep some commonly used tools, Chargers and such.. Kinda hard to resist doing that looking at those pictures..

How are you liking the box? I came really close to buying one but there were two things 1) HF skepticism 2) the damn latches only able to be released on one side. If they would fix that I'd probably buy one.

I have the 55" version. My two biggest complaints are:
1)I want deeper drawers - i.e. more than the 22", something like 28" would be awesome!
2)Latch release only on one side. I would kill to have something like the snap-on boxes with a grab anywhere release setup.
Beyond that - it meets everything I would possibly need. Couldn't be happier esp. after upgrading from my measly Craftsman I'd had for years.

Nice set up. I have the 56" I love the box. It really is built very well. But the drawer release locks are a PITA they do take getting used to.

Nice setup with the big box. I have two HF lockers on my Snap On box I painted to match. I like them and while I did pay a ton for my box I couldn't pay the asking for the lockers or the hutch. I am building my own hutch as others have suggested here and will post when done.

The latches are easy to take off, in fact one was missing on mine from the factory.
You are correct the side boxes are not as deep as the 72inch box.
Any deeper and the box would not of fit where I put it.

how tall does the tall side lockers make it?

I will measure next time I'm outside, I would guess about 6ft high.

I agree, honestly I've just gotten used to it and not bothering me that much, only thing is when a friend comes over you have to show them how to open the drawers. In this size and price point I think the menards masterforce box is the better deal, the latch looks like its the whole drawer handle and the 2nd drawer is also full length like the top. I'm on the east coast not anywhere near a menards though and since I couldn't check one out in person and there are a bunch of HF's around I went with the HF box.

The lockers are not as deep as the box.. They are really made for the 44

Correct, the 44 isn't as deep as the 72 so they do not cover the whole the whole box, I'll take a side pic. You can also see they don't go all the way down to the bottom of the box when using the factory drilled holes since they are designed for the height of the 44.

One thing HF did get right IMO on the 72" box is that the drawers in the 3rd bank (right side) line up with all the other drawers. My OCD really gets in the way on many of the triple bank boxes when the narrow drawers don't line up.

Congratulations on a very nice setup quicknova. You have a lot of value and square inches of storage there for your money!!

I just have to say those black boxes look great! I've thought of painting my boxes/cabinets to match since list is blue, craftsman red, yellow locker and a black one. What did you do for the handles?

I just got back from Harbor Frieght. I really like the 72'' but man I really wish there was a middle set of castors, the latching system is something I can't get over, and now I wish they made a top box for it. I'd sell my snappy and two husky boxes to get it.

If they ever drop the price for a sale I might pull the trigger anyways. For the prices though I might end up just getting two of the 56'' ones.

Right now it is $1200. Next time it goes on sale for $999 I'll probably pick one up and hope they come out with a top chest for it.

Would be cool if they did come out with a top box for the 72

Total overkill on the box but you could probably bolt the locker right to the side cabinet making a crazy long HF box lol.

I would love to have that setup. I love my 44, but I wish I had saved up and got the 72. I think if I ever have the room and the cash I'm gonna go ahead and get a 72 and two side lockers like you have. It really looks like you have plenty of space!

I would totally try this - side cabinet on each end, followed by a locker on each end of that. I would definitely add casters to the bottom of the end cabinets and/or the lockers though.

Now that would be slick looking I would love to see that with a home made hutch on top of it. Now that would be a tool box.
