I found this in the coupon database.

http://www.hfqpdb.com/coupons/2750_..._BANK_EXTRA_DEEP_CABINETS_1546886860.8283.jpg

How do I use it at the store?

I saved the picture to my phone then showed it to the clerk. He scanned it and it worked. YAY

Got the cabinet in the shop and installed the casters. I have 2 of the old style 54" Roll Cabs. They look to be much better. These new style have weaker looking casters, and the bottom where they bolt through the cabinet is not as solid. Bummer, but still a great price on this cabinet. Probably find a need to buy another. I went with blue for this one, so far I like the color change.

Thanks,
Ron

Anyone ever seen any coupons for the transmission jacks?

2000 lbs. Low-Profile Transmission Jack 60240 and 60391
or 450 lbs. Low Lift Transmission Jack

Unless you have a very very light ****** such as a Miata 5 speed, I would avoid the 450 lb scissor style jack. I used the 800 lb jack on my T56 and it was a struggle but some of the features such as tilt and roll were helpful when putting it back in. Ideally, you would make some sort of plate to act as a cradle to form a mirror image of the bottom of the ****** and then a flat underside to sit nicely (and safely, I had the ****** nearly fall on my arm) on the jack's pedestal. Also, the handle swivels around so that you can get to it from both sides. I think I would have burned my garage down if I was using that little scissor jack.

Has anyone ever seen a coupon for the Daytona low profile long reach jack? Normal price is a bit steep for me. I have a Dakota that is very low to the ground as well as a full size Ram that is much higher up.

This probably quite true, however just as an fyi, it makes a great garage lift/stand/moving dolly for the typical dirt bike without a center stand.

As long as it balances well and isn't a hazard! I used some homemade 2x4 wheel jacks/blocks to remove my ******, got to use what you have on hand.

The long reach low profile version lifts another 4" up which would help me get the blocks under my front wheels rather than using wood blocks on the jack which is dangerous. My Craftsman from nearly 20 years ago still works but slowly bleeds down and lifts very slowly, not to mention the short height. Hard to justify $190 for a new one that doesn't get use all that much though.

Red, black or blue for $169.99 but orange, green or yellow currently cost an additional $20.

A search for cart at http://www.hfqpdb.com turns up:

Sharing pictures is a little hard but in my latest flyer there is some good coupons!:
Fortress 2gal quiet compressor: $159
McGraw 20gal: $169
26”x22” roller cabinet: $249
10% off Bauer batteries
25% off Apache cases
30” tool cart: $109
10% off Vulcan welders
15% off Jupiter inverters

Plus some more but pretty decent stuff!

The 26" top is back to 169

How do you use a coupon like this? I haven't found it anywhere physically so is just printing a copy of this adequate? I've been looking to eventually get a 26" top box when I wasn't broke and since I'm perpetually broke I might as well just do it. As the wisdom of the ages states "tools will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no tools."

either print it out, or include a copy of it on your phone (if it has such capabilities).

if they can't scan it, if they can read the number, they can type it in.

I am of the impression that you dont actually need an image of the coupon, the number is sufficient, but if you transcribe it wrong, you are out of luck.

I wonder if that deal is regional? I checked HF's e-mail ad and website and it's not on sale. Has anyone had success with using these coupon codes from GJ when HF's website doesn't have it?

In my experience all unexpired coupons found at www.hfqpdb.com have worked in the stores.

Most/all HF coupons found at Garage Journal likely were found at www.hfqpdb.com.

Coupons with the lowest prices aren't found in their mailers, emails or website. Coupons found in car magazines often offer lower prices than what HF lists on their site, mailers or email promotions.

As has been frequently mentioned you can add the item to your cart on www.harborfreight.com and apply the code to see if it works. If it works at www.harborfreight.com it'll work in the store.

If you want the best coupon deal always check http://www.hfqpdb.com for the best coupon before using one from their website, mailers or emails.

The last time I was in a store, the guy in front of me just recited the numbers to the cashier, from memory. the cashier didn't seem surprised at all, I was. I usually read the number off my phone, but sometimes I'll print out a list of items w/ the coupon codes.

I'm thinking about buying a HF US General 44" deep cabinet/tool chest.

However, I don't have experience moving big items.

If I rent a pick up truck and go to HF, how do I pick up the tool chest from them, eg do they have a dock? Or would I assemble the wheels on the cabinet/tool chest in the parking lot, then roll it up a ramp onto the truck bed?

Depends on the store. I’ve never seen a dock, but one of my stores has a separate storage building where they pulled my 44. A trailer is easier than a pickup since it’s lower. They sent out two guys and they lifted it only my trailer.

Some guys have gotten damaged boxes, so you make want to peak before you leave. I have a few of their boxes and never had an issue.

never seen a dock. they have a forklift. they'll load the box in whatever you bring.

i agree on the peek inside. i think one of mine was damaged in the box, which looked perfect on the outside.

Local HF to me loaded it in the box with a forklift. Was the previous version - wheels were already installed.

Unboxed enough of it while in the pickup to check for noticeable damage then replaced enough of the box to protect it from the straps I used to secure it.

I removed the drawers in order to make it lighter before unloading it at home. Still a two person job to unload. I lubed all the drawer slides as I reinstalled the drawers.

I removed the US General sticker/emblems including the sticker on the inside of the lid on the top chest. I put a coat of Collinite Super Doublecoat on before shoving it against the wall and loading my tools. Knowing me that'll probably be the only coat of wax it ever gets.

Still happy with it after several years.

Thanks. What did you lubricate the door slides with? How often do you re-lubricate them?

I don't recall, it's been several years - purchased in June of 2015. Mine doesn't get a whole lot of use in my old age and I've never bothered to re-lube the slides. The current online manual pdf just states "Lubricate Drawer Slides as needed".

Current online manual also has instructions on installing the casters so the current version may not already have the casters preinstalled. IIRC the manual for the old version also had instructions for installing the casters but they were preinstalled on mine.

US General Series 2 complete set unboxing and assembly
shows the casters as being preinstalled.

Thanks.

The last time I went to Harbor Freight, they told me that I have to install the casters and handles myself.

It looks like they give you a wooden pallet with each tool chest.

Also, I looked at the instruction manual link. It describes assembly of the casters but not what size wrench/socket to use. Anyone know?

Likewise, I couldn't find a description of the maximum drawer weight and total weight that it can hold.

Thoughts about this new Craftsman on sale for $275?

The only assembly is adding the side handle. The box sits on its casters and is fully assembled otherwise.
