I went to the store and they were sold out. The nice lady there said 15 people were lined up waiting for the store to open and they bought all 9 sets in stock. I'm surprised there wasn't a fight. I ordered a set online.

I found 3 of the snap ring 8pcs that people waited in line for 🙄 I guess someone is making $27*3 + $81.

I used this on the 1000# lifting cart today. I was jealous of the HF guy loading my tool cart last night. I had to call a buddy to help me unload the cart at my house, time to have another method.

I wonder how many customers HF lost over the last 10 days, because they got more emails/texts about the specials than the number of those specials the stores actually had in stock. Was gonna pick up a couple of the lights Sunday afternoon, but forgot. I’m a lot less disappointed after hearing stories of them selling out before lunch.

Yeah, other problem was the web site inventory status was showing in-stock. I went in and the manager told me all sold out and no raincheck. Could have bought online but was irritated at them by that point and figured I would go the Amazon equivalent route.

I went in today, and the Icon lights were in 3 places in the store…seems suspicious that they were sold out 3 days ago, but in stock according to the store inventory, and now all over the store.

Despite all that **** talking I posted about the Braun being the better light, woke up this morning & decided to buy the Icon light, got me the free magnet strip too. For $20 can't go wrong & I don't even like these style of stick lights.

Really I bought it only to try & flip the COB LED orientation around which looks pretty easy to do. This one won't be going to my work though, either I'll keep it for home use or give it to one of my brothers.
That's so much better.

Slick! Was it hard to do? Any soldering involved? I use my braun light every day and I like most of the improvements on the icon. But the light on the wrong side of the hinge was a deal breaker for me.
It was pretty easy. No soldering required.

There's two locating pins/nubs on the hinge halves, one on each side. They are offset & is what prevents you from simply flipping the LED housing.

I always tend to do things the hard way, my plan was to relocate the holes on the aluminum LED housing using my mill. But doing so would defeat the purpose of the locating pins anyway so I just cut the plastic nubs off. Quick & simple.

Second pic shows one of the nubs circled in blue before being cut off.

Yeah, the little nubs sheer right off, No need to remove the light strip from it's housing. A less than 5 minute job. (y)

Think they’ll be in stock?IMG_5310.jpegIMG_5309.jpeg
I say yes, unless there is a nationwide supply issue which I don't see. If there was I wouldn't think they would put em on sale again so soon. $28 is only $2 cheaper than their usual sale price.

When they went on sale for $20 I think they just didn't anticipate the volume of purchases for that day, they probably had plent of stock at distribution warehouses.

On the $20 sale day I got to a store right when they opened. Went to the aisle where they were supposed to be & there was none to be found. I asked an employee & she said they had moved em all to under the front counter.

None on display at the front & no sign or anything like that. You just had to ask for one. I wonder how many people didn't bother to ask & simply left without one seeing that the normal location for them was empty.

Went to a HF this morning, they had plenty of them in stock in the aisle location as well as in an Icon display at the front of the store.

Whet to HF today and picked up the ICON light ($27.99) then took it home and modified it…….. Nice light and THANKS to Mr. Zero for the helpful modification tip.
Took longer to remove the light from the package and to get the tools out than to do the mod.

BTW! I told the manager about my "like/hate relationship" with HF and their "ZERO STOCK" inventory on sales and he understood. He also told me to see him personally and he would give me a rain check even though it is not their policy to do so on sale items.…….. Today I "like" HF but tomorrow could be a different story.

What’s the typical 4th of July sale?

I’m looking at the 8” Hercules bench grinder, and it’s $169 for ITC members through 6/27 (normally $199). But if their 4th sale is a 20% off no exclusions or something like that, I may just wait…

WAIT because they normally have a typical 20% Holiday deal……. Sometimes HF will send a 25% coupon to your email if you have been MIA for a few months.

BTW! There is a "good deal" on a better 8” Jet brand grinder ($299 after 45% off) on the Amazon deal thread that was just posted today.…….. Personally I would jump on the Jet 8” if was in the market for a grinder.

Yeah, I posted the Jet deal

The HF grinder would be half the price of the Jet deal. Both are Taiwan, so I’m not so sure which way to go

You can buy the 8” Hercules bench grinder now or before the 27th for $169 and if there is a 20% off on anything coupon you can get it adjusted since you'll still be in side the 30 day return period.

Of course up until about a month ago the regular price of the Hercules 8" was 179. They bumped it to 199. I should have picked it up with my 25% off when the regular price was 179. Oh Well.

This ^ is "interesting"……….. I wonder if they have a SAE version.
That is the SAE version - see the photo and markings! Now just need a matching metric one!

On a more serious note, I have a few cheap extendable ratchets like this (same idea just a ratchet) I picked up years ago. No name no brand. Quality is poor (I assume the HF ones will be slightly better) but they are actually surprisingly handy in a pinch
Would have bought a few more if I had planned ahead

I have a couple of HF dual head extendable ratchets. They work well. Good price with the coupon right now as well. It is $11.99

It's metric on the flip side ;)
