Today's mess....

Went to the local store to get two sets of the Icon S-shaped wrenches at 40% off, get to the cashier (the manager) and she says I'm not an inside track member. I showed her the email that I paid for it back on the 25th of last month, but it's not in her system.

She said I could call customer service and get a refund on my membership and then sign up in the store. she mentioned three times I should have signed up in the store.

So is that true? Part of me thinks she is plying for some promotional bonus for signing up X-amount of people.

So I left the last two boxes and I'll lay into CS tomorrow.

Not a "coupon" but as @Criminal mentioned, all Icon wrench sets are 40% off. ITC members get first dibs through Thursday, then it's open to everyone starting on Friday.

Picked up a set of SAE angled wrenches. Made in Taiwan. Normally $59.99, out the door (with tax) for ~$38. Kind of annoying that the SAE set has 7 wrenches, and the metric set has 8, for the same price...

Streamlight or OLight for me.…… These two light manufacturers have been thoroughly "battle" tested and proven to be reliable. Don’t "cheap out" on lights or optics!

I don't know much about O'Light, they are still relatively "new" on the market. Until a few years ago I'd never heard of them.

I'm a Streamlight guy myself. If you have money to burn, SureFire is the Snap On of the tactical flashlight world.

Weird, almost this exact same scenario happened to me today. Lady said I wasn't in her system, I showed her the email receipt and she tells me "That just say you ordered it, not that it was confirmed. You can get it in store and then get the online one refunded. I left the 4 way angle wrenches where they were and walked out.

Had to look up olight, doesn't appear they've ever been battle tested (or at least secured a military contract). Been using Surefire and Streamlight's going back 30 years in law enforcement. Nothing wrong with picking up an olight or HF light for a plinker or rodent gun, not everything is a matter of life and death.

You can login on the HF website or HF app, and you can find your ITC membership info.

If you just signed up for it, it can take a few days to become active. I also suggest you check your phone number, that is how the cashier finds your account.

I've not had any issues with my membership. I've used it several times since signing up, as recently as Monday.

I renewed my membership last week in the store. I asked for a two year option, she said OK and charged the $45.

I picked up some rubber gloves, a heavy duty tarp for the utility trailer and a piece of shade cloth for the patio the first time along with a couple sets of wrenches. I don't see any reason to hit it again..

My store had a stock of wrenches behind the registers as they normally have them locked up.

The store where I got my wrenches had 2 sets on a hanger, with a lock at the end. Each box was hanging differently, so you could read the info on the front and the back.

I had to bring a ticket to the register, then wait for an employee to go retrieve them from the stockroom. Sort of like buying a larger item like a cherry picker.

I wanted to get rubber gloves, but they were out of the orange grippy type, the only type worth buying IMO.

Has anyone seen the usual 15-20% off? I want to get the Jumbo SAE Angle Wrench Set, but all the sales I've seen have been the parking lot ones (which never include the big stuff). I know they were around last May/June when I got my 1" impact sockets, but I can't say I've noticed them recently.

Yeah, that's what I was asking - does anyone know when that'll be? I feel I haven't seen it in a while.

Here's the one I was looking for: https://www.harborfreight.com/jumbo-sae-angle-wrench-set-6-piece-61515.html

Edit: looks like I missed a sale a few months ago

I bought two pair of 3 ton jackstands at $30 a pair. I had some old ones that were on the "recall/refund" list so I opted to get the updated safety of the pins and the purdy new colors of metallic purple and metallic orange.

I signed up for the Inside Track Club and was told that it automatically applies coupons to stuff you're buying, but when I got to the front, it did not do that. Something to be aware of if you rely on ITC to track coupons for you.

Some items require a coupon and some don’t. Look on the app and if there’s a barcode you’ll need the coupon but if it just says ITC without a barcode it’ll ring up that price.

I just checked my profile on Harbor Freight and I do not have Inside Track Club on my profile. However, I have a receipt showing I paid for ITC. I wonder how I will rectify the discrepancy.

I check my receipt and when I don't get my discount I point it out. Since the inception of ITC automatically applying discounts to members it has been flawed. If you just signed up online right before going to the store it is possible the info hasn't replicated but the transaction should be in your account under "My Orders". It will not be under subscriptions.

You can open your phone and bring up the info that you paid for ITC. Ask for your discount and if the cash can't accommodate you request a manager. Don't be afraid to demand what you paid for.

They ask me if I want to renew my ITC every single time I go in there.
I renewed it last in May 2025 (a little over a month ago).
I was in there today and the cashier asked if I wanted to go ahead and renew it...lol

I showed the cashier the email on my phone to prove I paid, and the cashier was the manager, but it was no-go. She was pretty adamant that I re-buy the membership in the store and call customer service and cancel the online membership purchase.

When I find HF staff less than helpful I get their name and I go home and call HF customer relations. There have been bad staff/managers at my HF and they don't last that long. Complain about them or it won't change. I know seems like a hassle but the alternative is you accept paying more even though you paid to get the discount.

A manager can easily do an override and under "customer satisfaction" give you the discount you rightfully deserved.

I have made several posts about this "HF customer dissatisfaction" over the years and complaining in a calm respectful manner gets things done most of the time.……. Works every time for me.

And Horror Fraught. That's what I think AvE calls them along with The Home Despot. 🤣
Sometimes he says Hazard Fraught & Homeless Deathspot.

Did you know people have actually spent the time to document the things he says in google docs, websites, & other online posts? Lol

Here's one:

I actually have a genuine "thumb detecting nut fucker". 😁

Is that any good? Been wanting something like this to throw in a small tractor toolbox with limited room, and the Rastall Miner's Wrench so far has been at the top of the list.

The demolition wrench design sold by Stanley, Craftsman, and most recently, Harbor Freight is a little overkill and seems poorly thought out.
