IMG_8412.jpegLove these things, and that’s a great price. Besides the typical tools, they’ll also hold 2 “cordless hole punchers”, or 1 and an extra mag. Double them up, and they securely hold fully loaded, full sized mags. Cover with a strip or two of good duct tape to keep the metal off your slide, and you’re good to go. Waaaaaaay cheaper decent magnetic mount.

Very interesting. I've never seen one of those magnets in person, but could you cut one in half? Not many places I'd want to mount it has 18" of space to work with...

Use a small recip or hack saw and split it any size. Stack mounted could almost double the holding ability or capability

Might have to grab a super duty jack. Only thing holding me back is wondering if the badlands would be better for me. Nothing is level, garages are old cement that need to be redone and driveway is old cracking/bowing/crumbling asphalt. I’ve got a 2 ton low profile long reach Pittsburgh jack now and it drags over and doesn’t roll easily. I think the super duty would be the better jack, but want a jack that will roll and I won’t have to drag it everywhere.

Could you put bigger wheels on the current jack? Not worth the effort given the price of a new jack?

I thought of cutting in half when I first thought to use them for this purpose but then you’d lose the second screw hole. Mounting under a busy tabletop, I wanted it as secure as possible. I imagine a chop saw would give an Easily cleaned up cut, and the single mounting point might work vertically, side by side.

Im torn between these two jacks as well...it would take a 30% to get me pickup the Badlands.

There is a company that sells off-road 'kits' for several different jacks, prices are steep imo.

I've cut a few in half. Then drilled new mounting holes so there would still be 2 holes on each. The warrior step drill bits worked well for that.

Used the SD Daytona jack for several years in the garage but the Badlands bigger wheels have advantages for gravel, grass and soft asphalt. I find myself using the Badlands jack whenever the surfaces are less than smooth. The Badlands fixed wheels have another trick for maneuverability by rolling in 2WD

Are those ITC discounts limited to 5 items per day, or 5 items over the duration of the sale?

I have a couple of the 18 inch magnets, back pre-Covid they often gave them away free. The magnet isn't the strongest, unless it is better now. Don't expect it to hold heavier/larger items.

i hang hammers and other hand tools on mine and they work fine. not sure how heavy of items you're trying to hang, but i've got a 3lb sledge plus other things on one alone.

Love these things, and that’s a great price.
i've bought about 100 of these so far this year when they were on sale for $1.99. they are amazing. i've lined the backs of my tool cabinets so they don't get scratched against the concrete block walls in the garage, lined the drawers with them to hold my wrenches in place, and built pegboard specifically to screw these to the frame to hang most hand tools like pliers and screwdrivers and even hammers and pry bars on. love them so much.

i've used an angle grinder to cut them down but the magnets don't cut flush and kinda chunk off the ends. still works, just might not be the prettiest when you're done.

Those are too small, but thank you anyways!
I need the long-reach jack and the 6 ton stands for my lifted truck.
And will also be buying that nice $109 30" pedestal fan and a few other items.

If anyone has a coupon for $ off, please share? :)

Or knows how I can save on my purchase?

EDIT: That floor jack is actually only like a ~1/2" shorter max height than the long reach, so it looks good. Thanks!

I’m flying to the US tomorrow, just in time to miss the 40% deal on icon sockets. I also wish there was a reasonable way to get a 5 drawer service cart to Germany. I don’t think it will work as a checked bag. I’ll still spend a few hours looking at tools at HF and the box stores.

2 buys at sidewalk sale yesterday ...
1. Icon big meme tool. I have the small orig and really like it. I’m mixed on the big version at $48
2. Quinn 1/2 master socket set, 83pc (This master socket set comes with a full assortment of deep and standard sockets in sizes from 3/8 in. to 1-5/16 in. and 10 mm to 32 mm, no skips. The set includes an ultrathin 90-tooth ratchet for easy access in tight spaces.) Very nice set and very heavy. Worth the $90.

If you see one of these in your travels or own one its worth $319 + tax to return the bottle jack part to HF, there is a recall. I bought one new years ago at a heavily discounted price and returned it recently. No receipt is needed, just the bottle jack, they call it the Hydraulic Ram.

Wow, thanks for the info. I've been tripping over one of these in my garage for years now. I'll be glad to be rid of it and put the funds towards something more useful.
