I did also, in red, tonight before close actually. Guy said they sold like hotcakes today and it sounds like many wanted to cash and carry. I have no problem waiting and would have been unable to pick up today anyway. (Only had blue display). My home box is full. Have been looking for something decent used, nothing too reasonable local lately. I think I've seen the older version sell for same price? Definitely competitive $$ locally compared to Menards, HD, and local fleet stores. I checked.
What was your ETA? I was told Feb 3rd at the latest, but likely before then.
You will certainly get a better box than what the Box stores have to offer.
Also been looking locally for used on market place for some time. People think they can get retail for SHtuff round here.

I believe the ETA I was told is Jan 29th. I was specifically told this is not a promised by date, but a good faith estimate. (I'm in MN) I think we will both be happy with said box. Last week someone sold a pair of old SK boxes out from under me after we had agreed on a meet up time. :rolleyes2 Bit fed up with the used market locally. I bought my last pro box used, not locally for a reasonable price. Anyways, I hope you get yours sooner that later! I think the red and black looks kinda sharp.

Bought a gray one this afternoon. I have a series 2 in green I paid like $569 for on some coupon before covid screwed everything up. I like the new drawer layout better.

I just did a quick search and found a more comprehensive set of SUNEX wrenches (6mm-19mm) on Ebay for $51.56 shipped. Now I'm not sure which to get LOL

The Sunex set is not a true 4-way angle wrench with 30* and 60* degree offsets. Only one side on the Sunex have an offset. They are also made in India or maybe China now like most of their catalog these days.

That said, I wish the Icon set had larger sizes or an additional add on set with more sizes.

Agreed, non Taiwan Sunex is likely ****. My last set of Sunex line wrenches was COO India and terrible quality. The steel felt soft, the heads had a sloppy fit, and the “chrome” was so thin it looked uncoated in some places.

Do you guys think the 56 or 72in boxes will be heavily discounted over the next few months? I'm bummed about missing out on the $599 deal and don't mind waiting a bit.

Thanks,

Thanks for the data point! Fingers crossed for a solid sale this spring.
TIP! Keep an "eye out" at your local HF (along with some other area stores) for some dented or returned boxes at a discounted price……… "IF" you find one talk to the manager and be prepared to buy on the spot.

BTW! I don’t think you will ever see a $599 price again because of the tariffs….…… Hopefully I am wrong.

Agreed, on the pricing. I'd be happy @ 20% off. I'm all about getting a great deal but sometimes perfect is the enemy of good.

Thanks for the tip and I'll make it a point to stop by HF more often.

About 10 years ago I stopped a HF on my way to Monmouth Park (horse race track) to use a 20% coupon and saw TWO 56” top boxes laying on the floor that were dented and racked so they were 40% off and when I asked the manager "If I take both of them could I use a 20% off coupon" he said: "Sure" and threw in some drawer liners.…….. He was happy to get rid of them and I was happier to get them.
Once I got them home I took them apart and beat them into submission for about an hour until they worked properly……. Put a few decals over the chipped paint areas stuffed them with tools.
BTW! I left the race track with a few bucks in my pocket so it was a happy win/win happy day.

I managed to grab the last Icon 1000 light at my local HF. The website showed no available inventory but I decided to check out the store anyways.

weirdly, unlike before, my store only applied this on a single item. There was a bug that would make it work on all items bought under 10$ before

The text says it is only good on one item. The previous coupon was good for up to five items.

I know, and I'm telling you I've exceeded the limit of permitted items more than once on the sub-10 coupon. I got that tip from someone here. Edit: perhaps you can only exceed on the 5 item coupon:

Actually, the system is glitched (or whatever reason), has been for a while. When there is this 5 item limit sale, the system will actually apply the discount to more than 5 different items. Ever since I discovered this by accident, I have tested it by purchasing much more than 5 different items & every time I have received the discount if the cashier doesn't care to notice.

At first I thought buying multiples of a same item only counts as "1 item" for the coupon 5 item limit but I tested this theory to not be true.

When I said "if the cashier doesn't care to notice", they know the coupon policy but usually won't go out of their way to correct the discounts over 5 items. One time during that sale the coupon didn't get scanned, went back the next day (sale was over) & kindly explained to a cashier. They applied the discount for me (manually) but would only apply it 5 of the items (I didn't complain of course)

But your miles may vary. I'm not the only one to report this glitch happening.

Thanks, I used the left one on the 1/2 boring head (online only). I also got boring bars, figured since the shipping was the same it would actually cost more to try to get 15% off of it on its own tomorrow vs buying them together and only getting 15% off of the more expensive item.

The real trick is to avoid getting in line behind the whiny old fart who didn't read the fine print.
I got one tip to avoid this scenario………. Stay out of HF. :3gears:

BTW! My New Year’s resolution is to avoid HF after having my intelligence insulted, time wasted and gas wasted on the "No Inventory sales" they feature on a regular basis.
My 2025 motto is: F@k Horror Freight! :soapbox:

Contrary opinion here but I like going to my local harbor freight. It’s the closest thing to a tool store we’ve got and the staff are friendly and real human beings. They have a decent selection of specialty tools. That is all a huge big contrast to Lowe’s and HD these days. It’s about 6 minutes from my office so I can wander around on my lunch break and escape the corporate grind for a few. Id rather have a store dedicated to professional quality tooling with a large selection of American-made hand tools on display but I’ll take what I can get. I did see a few made in the USA labels in there.

back on topic - 15amp power strip is 41% off til end of the month

One of the biggest reason I keep coming back is customer service. No hassle returns, staff knows where everything is and works w/you to leave satisfied.

I agree that the staff is polite and the return policy is good BUT, when you advertise something you should have a "fairly good stock" on hand and if you don’t have it you should give a rain check. PLUS when something is on sale just give the folks the sale price instead of making them scroll through their website.……. I observed an older gentleman who purchased a generator at FULL PRICE when the cashier definitely knew it was on sale with a coupon so I went up to him in the parking lot and told him about the coupon and told him to return it and buy it at the sale price, he was so pizzed off at the place he returned it and went elsewhere to buy a generator.

BTW! I have spoken to the managers at several HF stores about their "shady business practices" and they ALL agree with me but they claim their hands are tied by corporate and there is nothing they can do about it.…… They tell me to contact the main headquarters and I tell them about my complaints so I reply "if headquarters doesn’t listen to their managers why should they listen to me."

Anyone think that HF raised their prices signficantly for 2025? I don't have any proof, but I went in today and the same stuff I was looking at a few weeks ago seems way more expensive (mainly Icon). Not sure if I am just dreaming or what.

Wlhf has a really good price on a square end. Shovel right now it's $10. I chose not to get it cuz I wanted something more durable. Ended up buying a Mexican made one with the John Deere logo on it at my local Ace but if I didn't actually use my tools the harbor freight one would have been fine
