They cut it out or scratch it up with a sharpie.

Why not cleanly cut the page out?

I don't mind cutting them out when there are ads on the opposite side of the page. But when there is an article, I don't like to cut them. I keep my magazines and refer back to them from time to time.

It wouldn't bother me if they just cover the bar code with a marker.

Not a coupon, but a new product. They are bringing out "professional" quality winches. 2000 pound atv winch, 89.99, 3000 pound atv for 149.99. 9000 pound truck winch, 449.99, 12000 pound 549.99. All are 12 volt with brake. I haven't seen them in the store, anyway I've never had any dealings with winches.

Is HF's policy clear to everyone regarding the free merchandise coupons?

I just placed a $100+ order online Monday night and used 8 different coupon codes. 2 of these were for free merchandise with minimum purchase of $19.99, so I thought I was actually allowed to use up to 5 free coupons.

Only 1 of the free items was shipped (not the one I would have chosen if I had to chose 1), so I called customer service and asked about it. They stated the "1 free item per order" policy, and I asked where that policy was stated on the coupon or in my cart, or at checkout (both free coupons were accepted while adding to my cart and appeared in my order after checkout).

I have attached one of the free coupons, and both have the same wording:

"Limit one coupon per customer and one coupon per day."

This could also be taken to say that I could only use 1 of my 8 coupons per order regardless of whether the item was free or not, which is obviously not the case.

I have to give HF's customer service another thumbs up, as they explained the policy politely and respectfully, and also listened and understood my question of the ambiguity of the wording. They are actually sending the other free item since they agreed the policy wasn't clear.

BTW - I have only ordered 1 other free item, and it was on a $50+ order a couple months ago.

It sounds like the HF website is broken if it actually allowed you to enter five free item coupons without complaining. Did your order show all five free items at no cost?

I only entered 2 free coupons, and it did list them both after I checked out, and are shown in my items ordered list both with a price of $0.00.

I was wrong about one thing - my total was only $88 before tax & shipping ($100+ after), so in my interpretation of the coupons I would have been limited to 4 free coupons, but still I only used 2.

Harbor Freight Toolboxes - ITC COUPON

You guys looking to get the 90320 13 drawer toolbox, it's on sale for $369.99 until tomorrow night. Looks to be going back to $399.99 for the May sales ad. Tomorrow is the last day of April.

For the guys that already have that box and are looking to get the matching top, I just happened to get an ITC Coupon for the month of May that is listed for $249.99. That's another $50 off the sales price. Now this is an ITC COUPON, so use it at your own discretion. I'm sure some of yall can and will use it.

Probably depends on the store, I just joined the club the other week. All I did was show them the coupons on my cell phone, I didn't even have them printed out. I just moved, and I did not have my printer and desktop moved to my new place yet.

Been wanting to get a drill press, i don't think I need to invest in a floor standing unit, I don't think i'll need something that heavy duty, but i did notice this bench top one in the newest add.
http://www.harborfreight.com/5-speed-drill-press-38119.html

Is this a good unit? I'm mostly going to be drilling through thin gauge sheet metal, aluminum and wood. Only one project i have right now, i need to drill a few more holes in some stainless steel, but it's not very thick at all. Also, can i use a coupon with this deal? If i can does anyone have a 20% coupon they know about? Thanks!

Can you use the 20% coupon on the 301pc tool set?

$144 would be a great deal for this set.

There was a $149.99 coupon last month, and I saw a sample ITC coupon for $139.99 in the store last week.

any problems with use'n the coupon and not being in the club...

They took mine with no questions - until about the 10th ITC coupon. The lady asked if I had my card, and I told her I just joined and received a link to the coupon webpage in my email.

After seeing the April and May ITC deals I'm finally convinced it really is worth the $20 membership cost ($30 minus the $10 gift card) if you buy much from them.

I'm amazed at how much cool stuff I picked up tonight for $126.

This is mindblowing, are "coupons" really common in America or is it just for this harbor freight place?

The idea of a company giving out a special discount to a customer purely because he has a piece of paper, which is obviously not worth anything them doesn't make any sense to me at all

If you think that is impressive, then check out "Extreme Couponing" on google.

Also, I bet you probably wonder why we also have return policies and at some places it is basically a lifetime return policy. :spit:

Hahaha a tv show entirely dedicated to coupons? Now i've seen everything

And I'm guessing there are lifetime returns because over 98% of people either a) don't use what they bought enough for it to break
b) lose the tool
c) lose their reciept/invoice for the purchase

or d) its one of those shops that closes down every 6 months and then reopens in a slightly different area, thus voiding the returns policy

Housey, where are you from? Your forum name is interesting, as a lot of South Africans small talk words (something that drives me nuts!)... so I was just wondering if that is where you're from? Also, a quick search revealed that you mentioned tools from there.

Also, I assumed here because you're not familiar with coupons, which is also not common there.

The TV show for Extreme Couponing is nuts. People strategize for a few days on their purchases and then go to the store, put $1500 worth of merchandise in their carts, and then use enough coupons to make it so they usually pay less than $50.

That said - am I the only one that's been disenchanted with Harbor Freight lately? When I first stumbled across Harbor Freight it seemed like the best thing since sliced bread but now it just seems like their e-mails are the exact same items at the exact same prices.

I agree! It seems like they are always couponing the same 8 items on the coupon lists!

There are a couple different types of coupons.

The Harbor Freight coupons are generated by the specific retailer. These coupons offer discounts on items that are only found in their stores, basically they are "house" brands. The theory is that, if a customer visits to redeem a coupon on a specified item, then the retailer is hoping you will be "convinced" that you are saving some money and will spend those "savings" on additional items.

Those are a little different than "manufacturer" coupons. These can be redeemed in one of many different retailers. These maunufacturer-generated coupons entice consumers to visit any participating retailer, with the hopes you will buy that specific manufacturer's products.

Occasionally, retailers and manufacturers both have to "convince" the consumer to spend money. And then in more specific cases, they have to "convince" some consumers that they need to frequently return to the store, to continue saving.

They appear to go in cycles, like maybe a month or two on certain things.

But yes, some they push constantly - like the floor jacks, tool chests and carts.

10 years ago you saw the 115pc TiNi drill bit set on sale every month for like $30-35, and the 440 & 880lb hoists on sale for like $60 & $75 every month for a year or two.

Anybody have a better scan of the $349 13 drawer chest. I'm in hte market for a couple of them, will just make a trip to a few stores over the week. But the scan by dig, while I am greatful, I can't use cause the barcode is not clear. My local stores get a little peazed when they can scan a code. I guess its to much effort to press a few more keys.
