I have a stupid question, does it mater if it is a black and white copy of a coupon? I wanted to get another 5 drawer cart and found the latest coupon on here.

Not sure if it's been answered, my experience was that as long as they
can read the item number and coupon code from your print out, they
don't care if it's color or b/w.

I heard someone could just show the cashier a photo from smart phone.

I was in my local HF buying the 6 ton jack stands and the manager looked them up on the computer and said with the coupon I had they were only making $7 on them.

Question...can they tell what the profit margin is on all their things at the register?

It seems that some mgr type person may know the price an item came in.
Had the experience that the mgr won't go lower, saying it would be below
his invoice.

The manager had pricing discretion at the time (about 10 years ago)
According to the manager at my store they have a lot less flexibility in recent months. Don't expect them to vary too much from the 'best sale' or coupon prices.

I used to see coupons for more expensive free items. They were like a cut off air tool, jumper cables and a mover's dolly . You had to spend either $35 or $50. Do those still exist?

Looks like I need a copy of sport rider!

You should be able to print that out, or just give them the coupon code (number below the barcode). I had a friend do this to buy me the 1000lb Motorcycle lift for $299.99. He just gave them the coupon code and they typed it in and applied it.

I found a coupon for the 90428 cart for $59.99, so I thought I would share it. I couldn't find one for $49.99, so I had to take what I could get.

Do you have any coupon codes for the HF coupons you just posted? Those are just pics. . .

Is there a current 20% off coupon out there that I can use online?

Okay,

All you jokers that keep asking for coupons.... Take a look at the three links in the first quote. I had to go back to about page 100 to find them but those three links have the most recent versions of the coupons and apparently HF just updates the page all the time.

Thanks for posting those links; I've bookmarked them so I can check periodically!

And one of them had the $99 coupon for the 4 drawer roll around; picked that up yesterday. When I get time it will have a hardwood top added and will be come a cart for my Atlas 6x18 lathe.

Here is a coupon for their "rarely on sale" 2ton jack. The one that has the T-handle, foot pump and is the highest lifting one they sell. Usually "on sale" at $140, this is the first I've seen it below that. Coupon is in current "Popular Mechanics"

Coupon #47978246

So what's the better "bang for your buck" on these floor jacks at harbor freight. The steel 2 ton for $109 or the aluminum 1.5 ton for $69?

I don't think I can really go wrong with either of them for general light home usage...

FINALLY, something I have experience with for a First Post!

This is a loaded question, and the solution will vary based on the type of cars you are trying to lift.

My $0.02:

Aluminum 1.5 ton is good for a track/autox/portable jack that you are going to use to get a lowered, coupe or convertible, two seater just off its wheels. It will struggle and whine with anything heavier than 2,500lbs and compromises capability to be light weight.

The steel 2 ton seems good if you have an extremely low car and need to lift it quite high, but if you can sacrifice the extra bit of clearance the steel 2.5 ton is IMHO the best "Bang For Your Buck" jack that HF offers at $70. Low profile, has fantasric range, better capacity than the aluminum 1.5 ton, the padded handle is nice to have, and the darn thing is beefy without being exhausting to move around the garage.

However, if all you are lifting is Mini-Vans, Small Suvs, and 4 Doors then the steel 3 Ton is probably more suited to your needs and at $59 is the cheapest option. Reasoning: why get a low profile jack for an average ride height car, it just means you have to pump it that much further to get the car up.

If you need more info feel free to PM me.

One thing to look at for your needs is the lift range. The 2 ton aluminum is like 18" whereas the 1.5 is only 17". The steel ones have a higher lift IIRC.

The best bang for the buck for most people use would probably be the 2.5 ton steel that is low profile and lifts to like 21 inches. The coupons usually for like 69.99 or 74.99

Good points all around. I think the steel 2.5 ton will be the best for my needs. Don't plan on transporting it anywhere outside of my home garage, and I only service my two cars - a corolla and a fusion - nothing special needs exactly. Now I need to wait till I can find a coupon...

I checked them out in the store today and the steel 2 ton on sale for $109 right now is a bit overkill for my needs. I like the extra features it has and the extra lift height wouldn't hurt anything, but it also has quite a bit bigger footprint than the others so it would take up more room in my garage when not in use.

One thing I thought of was putting the jack in my basement for the winter. The aluminum would be nice for that....I assume everyone just leaves them in their garages year round, correct? Even in an attached but unheated garage in Wisconsin? Any problem with the cold / hot weather affecting the seals at all?
