I would not recommend one of those. Junk. IMHO

It is just to hold some specialty automotive tools I have not being used for heavy duty use or moving around it should work just fine.

I would like to but they won't let you use percent off coupons for tool boxes. Or I would use my 25% one.

I have saw some coupons that allow you to take an additional 20% off 1 item.

But it looks like you got hooked up..

I haven't seen that saw on sale for $199 in a very long time. The same saw is sold under a ton of different names by the same OEM. It's a fairly simple machine and there are a lot of good mods available to make it even more reliable.

i have used the heck out of that little saw. what type of mods have you seen for it?

The best collection of mods I've seen are here:

http://www.mini-lathe.com/Bandsaw/Bandsaw.htm#mods

You can search for them online for more by searching "4x6 metal bandsaw mods".

The best mods are the quick change table for vertical use (I need to do this) and the outfeed extension in my opinion. There's a lot of good tips there.

Just keep in mind that HF equipment will usually get the job done but you aren't paying IR or Snap On prices either.

If you get it. Buy the earthquake one, and the warranty. Its a cheap warranty, so it never hurts.

I personally will never buy another Snap On product ever. I use to only buy Craftsman until I found HF. Tools with lifetime warranty @ 1/3 of the price how can you go wrong?

Looks like prices are going up on a few things. All the newest coupons show the 5 draw cart at $169 and back to 20%. Get the good ones while you can.

About 10 years ago I bought a HF 3/8" drive air ratchet, and it still works well when I use it, although I don't use it all that often. I added an air hose swivel to make it a little easier to use. BTW, I have a HF air powered die grinder that I bought in 1987 that I still use.

I bought one about 10 years ago too, I think I paid about $12 for it at a sidewalk sale. Still works great..

The thing I like about HF is there is no hassle return of failed hand tools. It has only happened to me once. Can't say the same for Snap on, had a failed 3/8 drive and rep argued with me that I used a breaker bar on it and wouldn't exchange it. No breaker bar just a failed POS!

I agree with that. I have bought several tools from HF and have had to return very few. The ones I have taken back have been no trouble to exchange or get refunded.

A lot of people think HF tools are junk, but I don't think they are all that much different than most other stores' Chinese imported stuff and are cheaper too.

The way I see it, there are basically two levels of tools that I'll buy; the very high quality USA made and some imports (high priced) and the low quality import like HF stuff (low priced). So, if you are going to buy low price/quality and you know it going in, then just get HF stuff to save the most money. Why pay higher prices for basically the same tools from Sears, Lowes, etc? I know there are some "mid-priced" tools that are very good too like some that are imported from Tiawan, but I don't know that many of them that are generally that much better than HF. Anyway that's the way I'm seeing it right now.

My snow blower decided to send part of its connecting rod through the side of the block tonight. I think I'll try out a Predator engine, either 13hp or 11hp.

I looked at the fine print on the 25% off coupon, and it does not mention engines in the exclusions. Can anyone confirm it will work?

Are there ever any better coupons than 25% off? The 13hp is $350 online and the 11hp is $300 right now.

Just go online add the engine to cart and apply coupon code. This is the best way to know if coupons work for that item.

I have a gift card to HF but the coupons say they cannot be used with gift cards in the fine print.
Has anyone ever been able to use a gift card with the coupon?
thanks

I think I have the same question as the above poster.

In one purchase can I
1) First use a 25% off any one item coupon for the most expensive item in my purchase
2) Then use a specific item coupon for the items I do have better than a 20% discount coupons for
3) Then use the one free item with any purchase coupon
4) Then use the one free item for walking in the store coupon
5) Then wrap up the purchase with the 20% off coupon for all items I don't have a coupon for

If not, I've got a game plan to make two seperate purchases but it would be easier if I didn't have to do that.

Thanks
Wes

I know they won't let you combine 25% and 20% off coupons at the sametime.

I know that situation comes up with 20 and 25 off any one item coupons but I'm curious to know if they treat the 20% off your entire purchase coupon differently.

That's the current "special" this weekend, 20% off your entire purchase over $100 on items that you don't present an individual item coupon for.

My plan is to make two sperate purchases at this point but it would be easier if I only needed to do one check out.

Thanks
Wes

Harbor Freight won't let you coupon stack. You're not going to apply a 25% off one item on a purchase, then take another 20% off the entire purchase. The coupons clearly state they cannot be used or combined with other discounted offers.

And it's one free item per visit, not per purchase. Don't get greedy. :)
