VMInnovations currently has the westinghouse 7kw running for about $620 (search slickdeals for the coupon). For your extra $90, you get:
battery, wheel kit, cover, 240->120vx3 cord, break-in oil + funnel, 3 year warranty instead of 90 day, and a generator that you can get parts for. Very worth it, I think (honestly, just the extra accessories or the extra warranty alone are probably worth it). Not sure if it's still available, but Costco also recently had a 7KW dual fuel champion for around $700, which has most of the same perks as the Westy (minus cover, cord, and 1 yr of warranty) but also can run off propane. Both are still chinacrap generators, but their importers do offer better support than HF. If you get the predator, I would *definitely* buy a warranty (they'll just replace it if it breaks - you still can't get parts after the warranty is up). FWIW, I went through the generator buying process about 9 months ago and ended up with a Smarter Tools 7.5KW for about $520 (I combined a $650 deal with a 20% off gift card deal to get a *VERY* slick deal), which is in a similar class price/perks/warranty/quality wise to the Westy and Champion. I have contacted their support department once with a question about replacing the oil plug with a hose, and received a prompt and knowledgeable reply. Champion and WestProPower (sells generators under westinghouse name) have similar support. None of these generators make clean enough power (they have a high THD / distorted sine wave) that you should be comfortable powering sensitive electronics (computers, modern furnace / fridge, washer/drier, etc.) with them regularly, but if you only do it for occasional use during outages, you'll probably be fine.
