Yeah right now it's around 67.99 and with the 25% off it will get it down around $50.00 that probably is the best I can do.

There's a sale on the DA polisher beginning today that runs for a week or two that drops it to like $57, I was waiting for it myself. I'll use a %25 on top of that.

Got my 20 ton press home last night and found the frame and jack are orange and the cross bars are dark gray-WTF?

Called them this a.m.-they said orange press has been discontinued-bring it back for swap-all other boxes in stock are gray press-just my luck-got the only orange one they had!

I just got this flyer of HF coupons in the mail today. It has 8 freebies on it -- LED flashlight, tarp, magnetic tool holder, 24 AA batteries, tape measure, funnel set, power strip, and a 100 pack of cable ties.

Talking about that? Is that the one everyone on here says is pretty decent?

Yes, that's the one that car guys are always reviewing online, lots of other site threads and hacks for it. Ive been watching for a sale as it's been like $67 or 68 in the store for awhile. The ad came out a few weeks ago saying it would be $58 on 11/18. So, thinking that's the best we'll do with a 25 off coupon.

I have this DA polisher - it works well, at least for the 4-5 hours I have used it so far. If you have been reading the detailing forums you will know to pop it open and grease it up. I would also urge you to get a replacement 5" backing plate (Amazon sells an Astro Pneumatic one for around $10) and a couple of good quality pads as the HF ones will fall apart fast. I got the pads from Chemical Guys and they are only a couple of bucks more than the crummy HF pads.

I got mine for $57 in the spring with a 25% coupon as well, I think that is as good as you can get.

All you need is the code in the bottom. If the cashier can read code you should be golden

does someone have a hi-resolution scan of the 6" magnetic parts tray that is still valid?

also - a phone friendly scan of the free 18" magnetic holder coupon?

I'm going to pick it up soon. My car could really use a new paint job (because the idiots that did the last one didn't tape up anything, and it's nicked at some edges), but I want to buff it up until I can afford to do that. I've just started searching for tips and techniques on how to do it. This one was the first I read: http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/wetsanding.html (so I do plan on different pads. Didn't know about the backing plate. Thanks!)

Here is a long thread on one of the detailing forums with way more info about the HF machine:

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum...ers/55905-harbor-freight-da-polisher-new.html

The one thing I will add is that the industry standard dual action polisher is the Porter Cable machine which runs around $100. If you plan on doing this a lot or want a very reliable tool then you might want to pony up a few more dollars for that one.

5" backing plate with 5.5" Foam pads. You can also get an assortment of V series polishes and pads for a pretty reasonable price from them.

Can some please scan higher resolution for this ad?

Thanks :thumbup::beer:

The file I uploaded was super high res, but GJ downsized it thus it is low-res now. I will try it again later when I get home.

But you can probably still print out and use the coupons at HF, perhaps?

You should only need the coupon code. If your HF hassles you, call the corporate office and explain to them what your store is doing. Ask them how you're supposed to redeem the HF coupon that they texted to you.

I wonder if HF has updated their coupon policy, when I went yesterday I had a copy of the 25% coupon on my phone. The lady tried to find that the coupon was directly sent to me from a HF email. She then said people are coming in with fake coupons. I was like if the coupon was fake the coupon code wouldnt work right? She had no answer.

In that case, I have a 90% off coupon I'd like to try, lol. Idiots

So far they'll type in anything they can read for me(except for my one incident with a transmission jack last weekend). Hell, one time the cashier had a stack and she'd just pull one that matched whatever you said you had.

I load each of the coupons I am using into a separate browser window on my phone and then zoom them way in so the barcode and number takes up the entire screen horizontally. Then I go to one of the older cashiers and tell them, "I have a coupon on my phone and I blew up the code so you can see it easier" and hold up my phone. Without fail they type it right in and thank me for making it easier for them. All images look mangled when you zoom in that close so they don't bother asking if it is a scan, they are just happy to not have to squint hard to read the coupon code.

Hey, send me your credit card number, date and ccv code in a PM please. I'll just write them down on a piece of paper. No worries about me misusing them though, they only work if I have the actual card in my hand.

A couple Porter Cable came up on Amazon. Are you talking about this one?. It seems like once I do everything to the HF machine, I might as well just get this one :dunno: . I did buy the HF unit but I haven't even taken it out of the box yet. I didn't see your post until I got back from HF .

The Porter Cable 7424 you linked to is considered the gold standard amongst the detailing community. I can't offer you a comparison - I'm not a pro and have only used the HF model, but for working on my family's cars it has been fine for the handful of times I have had to use it.

Keep in mind you still need to purchase a backing plate ($10) and pads ($6-7 each) for the PC machine, so the difference in price vs. the HF model is about $66 just comparing the machines. Based on reputation alone I wouldn't count on the HF model to last a lifetime but if you just need it for this one job then it may be worth going with HF and saving a few dollars.
