The Slug isn't welded to either, it's a unique piece. Jack (with saddle removed), the custom slug (with small jack end and big cross beam end) and the cross beam. The craftsman jack saddle just drops in so yes, I can swap between them without unbolting it. I haven't used it with a HF jack where you bolt it in.

Still going strong, and has worked perfectly. Most recently to reach both frame rails of my 1969 Mustang right behind the rad mount to lift the front up.

Does anyone remember what series vette? I recently picked up a C4 and haven't found a good jack point.

wallyman great idea, thanks

brian these are for the c5/c6 vettes in researching this there is lots of stuff on jacking up vettes just google C4 jacking locations

I think i have decided to make my own cross beam adapters similar to the smith fabrication ones except with stationary pads

can some one confirm the length of the front and rear C5 cross beam adapters and the distance between the center lines of the pad, and distance in from end of center pads?

thanks Bob

I have this adapter, not sure if the HB or Northern version. i use it for my C6 vette. I've used it front and back on the vette, after driving up on ramps that I've made. I like that it allows me to then put jack stands under the crossmember. I just found some old pics (damn photobucket is useless now) and I just used the crossmember without the extension arms, but with a 2x4 laying on top, front and back of the vette.
