I'm not familiar with these things but does it struggle and then stall out or it just runs fine and then stalls ? It doesn't do this any other time besides rough road?
2.5Hp gasoline internal combustion engine. Old fuel in tank? Ethanol fuel does not sit in tanks well.
Thanks...Mostly just stalls after riding on rough road. I just bought this thing; 3 wheel motorized used bike/trike. I don't believe it even had a problem at all until I took of tank and hoses, drained, pulled plug for new one, etc., to give it a bit of a clean-up....not sure though because I hadn't ridden it much after buying because it looked like it needed a little TLC.
Anyway, like I said, I drained gas tank, cleaned it as best as possible, put in new fuel w/stabilizer, changed oil, new plug and fuel lines. I fixed leaky fuel tank, degreased engine, ordered new tank, which will take forever to arrive... so I put back together and started her up (she fired pretty quick a few pulls), And as soon as I started riding, it stalled. It would start up again failrly easily and time between stalling got longer, so I thought it was may some old fuel trying to work it's way out or something like that.
Then I heard about the low oil sensor gizmo that had given other people problems (the sensor activating engine shut-down on rough roads and turns), so I disconnected that, to no avail....
So, now I'm thinking of getting a new carb from Harbor. That'll take forever though and I'm not even sure if that's the prob.
Do you all know of anywhere else that carries carbs and parts for these small 2.5hp engines. Harbor does NOT make these anymore, even though they do sell parts (that take forever to arrive). I guess these are 'clones' of Honda engines, but I've yet to find somewhere that carries parts (other than their non-technically supported 800 parts line).
Thanks
