Is it just me or does it seem that hf sales seem to mostly be the same stuff over and over. Yes, the 20 percent coupon helps but even that is getting to be more restricted as time goes on. I find that I'm buying less these days. I mean, I have now gone over a month without buying anything that amounts to anything. Maybe less than 10 bucks.

It would be awesome if they had some kind of rewards program.

I don’t know if anyone here is apart of that (Inside Track Club?) Program... but I remember it being expensive to sign-up. Seemed like a waste to me considering the Inside Track Club sales were on items that most people don’t particularly care about.

I like how Sears does their ShopYourWay program. You earn points purchasing and playing games on their apps. They give “FREE CASH” as they refer to it now, which is a bonus discount on different departments throughout the store. I usually manage to walk out with $10-20 in savings every week. I picked up the Craftsman 3 Pc. gasket scraper set and a multimeter last night for Black Friday. I paid $14 out the door after sale price on the multimeter and using SYW points. That was supposed to be $46 retail and I paid less than 1/3. Sure, Harbor Freight can beat that but the quality of their similar products isn’t that great.

Nothing better than going into Sears and walking out with a Craftsman 75 Pc Tap & Die Set for $38 after using points on the already marked down sale price. $11 out the door for a Craftsman Professional 3 Pc. pry bar set. NOS USA Made black handle Craftsman oil filter pliers for free... and still having $1.61 in points remaining in your account. $75 back in points after we bought our new Samsung washer and dryer. $15 FREE CASH if you spend $20 in the Home/Bedding department... 4 good quality brand name bath towels for $5. Why the hell not.

I buy less because I already practically have one of everything they sell, LOL

If one goes into the store, they'll find everything they sell is already on sale. Coupons and flyers, just mark certain items down even further.

The sales do get repetitive, but it would seem most of those items are already good sellers, anyway.

yeah same **** over and over... I'm in the club but mainly just to get more ads to look through and to have the card so I don't have to give them my phone number at check out. Every blue moon they actually run something on sale for ITC members that I actually use but I don't fool myself into thinking I'll save what the membership costs. I buy a lot of grinding and flap wheels there. It's actually rare I buy anything else but every once in a while something comes up.

Just remember to never pay their full retail price on anything. I went in there once and all my coupons had either just expired or didn't start until the next week and I needed their tap and die set for a project I was working on. We tried 3 or 4 20% and none worked. Finally I just told the girl I wasn't going to pay full price for it and before I could say anything she paged the manager. manager walked up and she told her that I didn't want to pay full price on it. She gave me a funny look, put her key in the register and hit the 20% off button.

I learned something that day...

Had the itc membership for one year because the person at the register pointed out that I would save more than the price of the membership when buying a set of SAE and MM impact sockets. Used it like once after that. HF is over an hour and a half away so I only go if I'm in town for work. Most other savings aren't worth the drive.

Yea, I did the club thing and it cost me. Now I just wait. Unfortunately, many things are never on sale so best one can get is 20 percent off and even that is becoming touch and go. Luckily my store has a manager who is rather good at dealing with issues. Plus it helps when he recognizes you as a regular.

I never bother with coupons, never wait for sales.
I buy what I need when I need it.
My buddy is completely on board with the whole coupon thing, he wanders around the store trying to match tools with his collection of coupons.
He has a huge amount of HF garbage tools and spends 5 times as much as I do.
THE COUPONS ARE ALL ABOUT GETTING YOU EXCITED.
You don't save in the long run because you don't buy what you need, you buy what they want you to buy.
It's good mkting. If you play their game you lose because they wrote the rules.
But people go to Vegas because it's fun losing money.

I'd rather get a discount up front that pay for a rewards program just to ************ back.

any cost of rewards is just paid for via a higher up front selling price.

There's a lot in this I agree with. Same for most Black Friday sales. If I really need it, I can't wait for it to go on sale during BF. During sales I end up buying things that I think I would like to own. It usually ends up gathering dust.

As far as coupons, I just stick them in my truck so if I have to make a trip to HF or Northern tool I can use them. But shopping and buying things is a form of entertainment even if we don't like to admit it.

I've never had any issues with the staff at our hf. Even they don't expect you to pay full price for the larger ticket items.

If you find yourself with an expired coupon again, just both a good one up on your smartphone

Funny you should say that, right after that I found the hf database site and now I usually put a coupon good for the whole year on my phone and haven't had that issue since. I used to try keeping a few in my wallet and that obviously wasn't working out for me.

The emails and mailings with the "sale" flyers........I should say the "sales that aren't really sales" is getting boring at this point. Lame actually. Maybe others feel the same way, I was there yesterday afternoon (Black Friday) and was surprised at how quiet the place was. I asked if it was busier earlier in the morning, and by the less than vibrant response, I take it that it was not. I looked at the tags on a couple of air compressors, and one had a 2015 build and the other was 2016. Kinda old stock sitting there on the floor.
Some of the tools are improving in quality, but overall there really is a ton of poor quality junk for sale in the store. You can fool some of the people once.....but who's coming back in and re-buying the same ****?? Most of it is obvious, but I did take a chance on a couple things at one time. Never again. Confusing who their customers are for some of the really worthless ****.
At any rate, they really need to change up their game at this point I'd say.
And, they really need some serious competition.

My HF has super slow check out lines due to the fact they want everyone's info.
It drives me batty. And it is the reason I don't shop there too often.

I have noticed steadily that HF prices are not that cheap anymore and approaching husky, kobalt prices and amazon, eBay prices... So I don't go there directly without checking ebay, amazon and other online prices first..

I just had to unsubscribe to their emails today. Three emails in 15 hrs is just spamming.
