Anybody have experience with this tool cart? http://www.harborfreight.com/580-lb...iMTAzLjk5IiwicHJvZHVjdF9p ZCI6IjMyNTkifQ==

I need a little extra storage outside of my big toolbox and the drawers in my workbench. This looks like the right size. I haven't seen it in person yet. I know HF gets a bad rating on most stuff, but I have heard some of the toolboxes are ok.

Its going to get the majority of my specialty tools in it (the stuff I only use occasionally) and sit in the corner most of the time.

it's pretty nice...with the coupon it can be bought for $99

Personally, I would step up to the red cart for $160 with coupon....it's the exact same cart as my Blue Point cart

I have one and I love it. I use it for my 'crash cart' I keep my main **** that is normally used in it and it has held up well for about 4 years.

The service truck I have for work (international bob truck) has one strapped to the wall. It's not mine it belongs to the other guy that runs the truck when I'm off. It's got some dents and dings and the only problem it has is the drawers won't stay closed when the lid is down.

The red cart is really nice, and as stated, you can get it for $165 with a coupon. There is a thread on here that has a ton of coupons that you van print if you do not have one, they are available in Hot Rod, 4x4, Off Road, and other magazines every month. It is a nice box, and yes, I have one.

What about quality on the General Mechanics Service Cart (1 drawer) for $59?
Anyone have one?

I should note that I'm sort of a ***** when these deals pop up. I get all excited and run to the store then check out the merchandise and almost always walk away thinking it wasn't "great".

I just got the 5 drawer and liked it so much that my old tool boxes are incorporated into my workbench now.

Have had this cart at work for 2 yrs now. Added a drawr, and work out of it daily. Im not in love with it, but it does a damn good job, for now.

How did you add a drawer? Where did you get an extra drawer from?

I also have the black one and have been very happy with it so far. It's actually pretty damn beefy for what it costs. Nice slides, nice heavy casters. I don't keep it loaded, I keep everything in my main boxes the. Load the cart with the parts and tools I need for the project at hand and wheel it out to the project. I've found it helps keep me nice and organized.

Another great review on the black cart. I put my shockets and air tools in it, so it's pretty loaded down. Roll it right up to the project and pick as needed. Very nice for the price.

Short of calling them on the phone and asking, is there a way to find out if an HF store has an item in stock? It's just a damn long way (Near 200 miles roundtrip) to drive and come home empty handed.

I just bought the 5 drawer (red). I would definitely recommend getting it instead of the 4 drawer. It's taller, wider, holds more and at a good working height. Seems lock a lot more bang for the buck.

The four drawer looked like you would be bending over to get tools out a lot. However, if you had to store this under a bench while not in use, you may want the four drawer.

Both are nice. I have two of the red ones. I got them a couple of years ago when they were real cheap ; $ 115.00 each.

I have one of the red 5 drawer red ones to keep next to the lift with all the lube tools close at hand. I also bought one of the 44" chests/roller boxes and one of the 26" sets that were on sale recently.

I think they are better quality than the recent Craftsman boxes.

I use the black 4 drawer as a CC welding instructor, I needed the large space underneath to store and move 50lb boxes of rod and cut metal upright. The red box did not have the space. I can take all the wrenches, grinders and spare parts I need right to the booths, and not have to dash back to my office 10 times a day.

I use the lid to move multiple 44lb spools of wire as well. I am probably near, or past the recommended weight limit, and it has been fine. Considering some of the add-ons in the General Tool Discussion thread on these boxes, like a side shelf, and extension cord and multiple outlets.

I went and bought the black cart. I considered the red one, but its a little big for the space where I want to stash this, and space underneath wasn't as big. The black one fits what I want perfectly. The ones on display looked pretty good.

The local store here had probably 50 of these stacked up in front by the registers and a whole pile of the red ones along the front wall by the windows.

I'd just call. My experience has been that they generally have either a ton, or none of what I am after when there is a good coupon or sale. I have 5 HF stores within 30 miles, so I have called several before to find what I want.

if you call- have them put eyes on the item not just look it up on their system. I have called and gotten "oh yeah we show three of those in stock". Show up and they still show three on the computer but none in the store.

I own the black one for home. I'm gonna be picking up one of the red ones here soon for work. They are both great quality.

For another $65, I would get the 5 drawer red one - it is much sturdier and has levers that keep the drawers shut, which is a good feature if you are rolling the cart around most of the time to use it.

I have both, and I leave the 4 drawer one in my attached garage with my wife's car - use it for general stuff I use mostly in the house - I don't roll it around much. it is not a bad cart for $99, but the 5 drawer cart is in my workshop I move it around a good bit.
If I move the 4 drawer cart around, I usually put a bungee around it - you can have the drawers fall open whe you are crossing a door threshold or if you roll it out on a driveway with a grade.

I have the black one and it's been great. Fully loaded up... sockets on the top, hand tools in the smaller drawers and my impact tools in the larger drawer. I actually don't mind that it's a bit smaller. It makes it easier to roll around and navigate through my garage space, which can get a little tight with both cars inside and misc stuff in the way. Recommended.

I've been waffling between which one I want to buy, but I'm thinking of picking up the black one for exactly the reasons you mentioned. I don't think I'll need all the storage space of the 5 drawer, since it would only be used when I'm actively working on cars, and not so much for permanent storage. That and I'd rather have a larger space underneath it to hold parts and stuff, and it would be easier to roll around and keep out of the way. Gonna have to go to HF this weekend and buy one.

I put it together and loaded it up. Perfect for what i wanted and fits in the spot I wanted it. The red one has a smaller space underneath, and have 2 toolboxes I wanted to put underneath. Red one looked too tight.

FWIW---the black one does have drawer locks on it. There are 2 rods that are pushed down by the top and lock the drawers closed.

The black one is tough. I've flipped it over twice on uneven ground. Still works great. Second time I didn't have the lid closed on the trailer at the track. So it spilled out. The first time with the lid closed and locked the stayed in perfect.

I just got one for Christmas . I use it for my electrical diagnosis cart it holds all my scan tools and meters power probe and the like. Its the same cart as others sell but its not powder coated and the slides and top are held on by rivets . my cart had some paint that was coming of the pan that the rollers bolt to .HF relaxed it without any questions. For a $170.00 it a thing of beauty.
