I am looking for something like this

http://www.directindustry.com/prod/p...ct-item_967835

However, instead of a one size fits all and you slip on a socket (like above). I am looking for one that you can slip into a wrench and it’s already sort of a built in socket if that makes sense. (14mm hex on one end and 14mm socket end on the other, and it will slip into the 14mm wrench you are using)

Like for example a 14mm will "plug" into a 14mm wrench and you now have a super thin 14mm ratchet, (Even thinner then the ones I mentioned above) but now have a little more lip than just a plain ole wrench. (So you need one for each size you want)

Has anyone seen these before? I know they sell them because I seen Craftsman has a set, but I just can’t find them anymore.

Thanks, Tom

A ratchet wrench doesnt have that "lip" that these would give. If you have part numbers on them that would be awesome.

Pluse you dont need to use them on a ratchet wrench, you can use them on just about any wrench.

Sounds like you want a pass thru socket set with a hex drive end. They make low profile like you describe.

The Craftsman ones aren't made anymore and they are not easy to come by. You pretty much just have to get lucky on Ebay and sets that don't skip common sizes are very hard to come by. I bought the Harbor Freight set instead and I am very happy with it, especially for the price. It is the only option (currently made) that I could find that uses a hex drive (instead of the Gearwrench proprietary type drive) without going to a much more expensive truck brand version. I greatly prefer the hex drive so I can use them along with regular combo wrenches in really tight areas. The Harbor Freight ones are made in Taiwan in case anyone is wondering.

The only thing about the Harbor Freight ones that might not work for the OP is that all the sockets use a 3/4" or 19mm wrench on the drive end no matter what the socket end size is. This is okay in most situations, but it does make the upper part of the smaller sockets fatter than it would be with something like the Craftsman set. The set also comes with a nice 3/4" fine toothed ratchet that seems equal in quality to Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches in my opinion. Unlike the Gearwrench wrenches, the Harbor Freight ratcheting wrench can be taken apart to lube, etc. which is nice. Because of the fact that all the sockets share the same 3/4" hex drive the set also comes with a hollow extension that works with all the sockets.

I have the Craftsman adapter set also. Bought it about 8 years back. Can't say that I've ever used them. I always manage to find some other combination that works. I have only just recently bought some ratcheting wrenches so maybe now they would be a more useful option for me.

I recently scored the whole met and SAE set for 10 bucks at a pawn shop. No longer sold by Sears but keep an eye on Fleabay.
Btw, they are thinner than my Snap On thin ratchet and socket set, especially b/c you use a smaller wrench with small sockets.
