Looks great!!

Did you make the metal nesting box or what brand is it / where did you find it? That's super neat! Eventually my plywood boxes in the coop are going to need repair and or replaced and man the thought of only doing it once and never again 😍

The box looks super cool pair with that big sink. That's an awesome area. I want to eventually do something similar outside under a lean-to for butchering.

Thanks Michael B., Pat loves it.

Boostingaz, Thank You, I dont know the brand but they were real popular hear years ago. This area is covered in chicken houses, there are about 160,000 birds right behind my place, the neighbor has a couple of houses.
This particular box was in my neighbors tractor shed, he gave it to me. I took it apart and cleaned and painted it, it is galvanized but we wanted a closer match on the paint. It is old enough that the nuts holding it together were square!
I did find this on a google search, https://www.hogslat.com/farmstead-10-hole-chicken-egg-laying-nest-fs301
It looks close to mine.

Thanks everyone, it is kind of exciting to see it all coming together, it has been a long time coming.
We removed a shelving unit from the basement last year and stored it in the trailer, today we reassembled it in the storage building behind the cabin. The unit is 16' long by 7' high with 24" deep shelves. We assembled it and bolted it to the building, it's there forever! Tomorrow we have some more furniture to move, a couple of pieces are to be moved to the shop for restoration, some other pieces to the basement. Pat will be back in the trailer sorting out priceless heirlooms! The bed of my GMC is full of canning jars that are coming upstairs to be cleaned and run through the dishwasher before being stacked in totes back in the basement.

Didnt think to look for veneer, I'm pretty sure its solid since I didnt have to glue any corners down. I'll get a close up look tomorrow. The Judge gave it to me several years ago and said it was his mothers. He has to be close to 80!
We drove to Sweetwater and picked up a set of shutters for the basement, the guy was an escapee from Chattanooga, he was pretty cool and we talked for quite a while, he has a bunch of chickens and is homesteading 3.5 acres.
Came back through Cleveland and stopped at lowes, spent way too much money there. Went to the post office, then to Taco Bell, it is national taco day today!
I have been working on a power wheels jeep for Whitley, it got an overhaul yesterday with the addition of a 20 volt dewalt battery adapter and a paint job yesterday, so I reassembled it today, that 20 v battery really makes it scoot. She will be home tomorrow so she will get it then. I have way too many irons in the fire again so it's time to hammer out a bunch of them, my stress level is climbing again

20v should make it haul. Had one with 18v using the battery from my motorcycle. GOt a friend from college who's son drag races them. They pull the front wheels off the ground. Actually has to have wheelie bars for it. Again, well played sir.

There is quite a rabbit hole you can go down with these things. I googled the battery thing and the algorithm kicked in and I'm getting all kinds of speed hacks and update parts, who would have thought there were people collecting these things!
I'm hoping to get the rest of the year in this one then she will get a go cart. Her brother has dirt bikes so its inevitable that she will ride.

That's crazy Kirk, I would go watch one of those races, I'd bet it would be a blast with all of those pumped up Dads coaching there kids!

I had a very busy day today, I found some ¾" plywood on marketplace for 20 dollars a sheet, so I went to get a couple of sheets for my shelving project, when I got there he had some that were slightly damaged for 15 dollars so I bought six sheets. They will work great! Then I went to the woods and got 15 sticks of 1" angel iron from Donnies stock pile, he said its been out there for 20 years,I took it back to the shop and started cutting and cleaning, as of now I have everything cut and have started fitting it up, then I got tired and quit. I'll get back to it tomorrow!
Edit, the buffet is veneer!

It wont make any difference to me Kay, it is going to be a base cabinet for printers and 3D printers. It has been in the storage building for 6ish years, time to use it or send it down the road! I need to remember to get some pics today.

Pat found this bed spring at one of the local antique stores, it will go perfectly with the iron bed, I had a quart of rustoleum hammered bronze so I put a fresh coat of paint on it and we can assemble the bed tomorrow. I got the racks built and painted but still forgot pics of them, soon!
Dude, Dalton, and I are going to a turkey shoot in the morning, then I'm afraid I will get suckered into helping him install a bath tub after the shoot.
Pats Daughter and sil live about an hour east of us in Oliver springs. They planted there banana trees one year before we did so I'm expecting

I see you have one with a green flower like ours. All of the plants I have seen had purple flowers until we got this one:

Terry, I know that guy, I watched Red Green when I lived in Chicago, he was a little different. luckily they fit the frame and the neighbors gave us a nice mattress that they had in storage, Pat is having a lot of fun in her new space.

Welder, dose yours make fruit?
I dont know much about these trees but I really didnt expect to see fruit on them. We are going to add to the soil and put some chicken litter around them to see if we can boost it a little next year. We bought a couple of kumquat trees to add to the tropical look of that bed.

Yes, we have small green bananas that you can see in the photo above that was taken mid-August. I'll get a newer photo when I go out there later today. The plant is about 3 years old and did not have fruit last year. We normally cut them down when they wilt in the winter, but last year let it stand and just trimmed off the dead leaves in the spring. This year the height has shot up taller than the garage.

Welder,
please do post a pic, I know of several plants that are making bananas this year, but nobody has said that they have eaten one yet!

Scooterbum, my grandfather had one with three ft. legs on it, he put it above his tomato plants and they would grow up through the springs,
no stakes or string required!

We went to the turkey shoot this morning, I won two of the four rounds I entered. Stopped at a yard sale on the way home and bought a parking meter! Then we went to Dudes store and I fixed a table saw that they had for sale, they had a buyer if it worked.
Ran some errands, went to lodge meeting, maybe I can get back to work tomorrow.

Basement does look good, will be a great space to make all the goodies to save for later. I have a buffet like that, my veneer is in much worse shape, but it is pretty thick, so you might be fine.
