Been a minute since I've posted,

I got the vanity installed at the bil's place.
He hired a drywall finisher to finish the bedroom.

We have all of the drywall hung, I just cant finish and sand it, it really causes problems with my back and shoulders.
I'll have to trim out the electric and install a bathroom door and that will about wrap this project.
One step closer to retirement!
I got to work on my buffet for a bit this morning.

I didnt expect to do this detail of work, it is going to be a shelf to put printers on next to my desk in the basement,

I didnt think that these stains and paint would come off without leaving a noticeable mark in the wood, it did take all of the black grain out of the oak but I was able to put it back and it came out so well that I will put a quality finish on the piece. I guess I will buff my buffet, lol.

I'll put one more coat of clear on it tomorrow after I finish sanding, I am using 320 grit dry paper now, the next coat will get cut 25% with reducer to thin it out then I'll probably do a 1500 or 2000 grit wet sand and buff the top only.
Like I said I didnt expect to go this far with it but it's looking way better than the piece of trash that was given to me. Note, the plywood shelf on the bottom is only attached with 10 pin nails, it could be removed if someone wanted to use this in there home when I'm done with it, I put the shelf there to store filament spools.
I also cut down the shutters that will become the door for the coal room.

They were almost 70" long.

I cut them to around 54" then I had to fill four slat holes on either side by cutting ¼" long pieces from one of the old slats and glueing them into the slots, then sanding them flat. This gave me a flat surface to redrill the holes for the glue dowels.

I will build a frame around two of these and hinge them.
