I have been so busy since the last time we talked, the granddaughter and Pat's nephew are forever out running around and the got sick and brought it home to Pat, she battled infection for a couple weeks, Doctors prescribed the wrong medicine, she finally wound up at the Chattanooga Heart Institute with chest pains and couldn't breathe, three days there and all the test, heart cath and the whole shot.
I know!!!, too much info but now She is a heart patient and a bit more fragile than she was before, I'm mad as hell and thankful to God all in the same breath! And that's all I have to say about that, let's move on. Thanks.
I'm trying to get things back to normal so we have been (very cautiously) going to some estate sales and we also did the Hwy 127 yard sale this past weekend, (google the 127 yardsale) we bought a couple of trinkets, nothing very big!

They had a bunch of fiberglass animals at one stop, they wanted $1,250 for them, I wanted the Sinclair dinosaur 🦕 but not for that much, I should have bought the one in GA. For $400.
I have been mowing for a couple of my neighbors, they are too lazy to mow so I made them a deal they didn't refuse!

Josh and I bought a three point tiller to flip, while we were there the man gave us a 6' bush hog, so we took it and gave it to Donnie. It hooked to his tractor just fine but the drive shaft was almost too short, if you went up a slope the shaft would pull apart, so I cut it and added 10" to the length.

I did the work as I needed to use it to mow part of one of the Neighbors fields.

It's a great set up now, easy to hook and unhook, and it runs very quiet.

I don't know if you all remember me building the yard lights last year, well I got them installed also, it was too dark to safely go up and down the steps to the car port and basement, I didn't want Pat to be unsafe! Another one off my list.

On a more fun note,
20230809_173945.jpg
I bought another mini bike frame!
20230809_173935.jpg
I had an old Chinese four wheeler that I have been saving to make a three wheeler.

I'm hoping the gy6 motor is good because it has a reverse transmission on it, and that would just be cool!
Tomorrow Josh and I are going to start digging up the conduit that I burried a couple years ago for my generator, it has to be 10' from the propane tank before they will certify the install, that is important over at the insurance office!
Lots more coming folks!

racer-john, I wanted to do two but I'm not sure I have enough room, I haven't committed to anything yet, I need to sit down and stare at it again!

I got some help digging today so we are finally going to finish the Generac! Whoo hoo!!!
20230810_182138.jpg
After this was all in and covered up they advised me that there couldn't be any ignition sources within 10' of the propane tank, so the only option is to back the generator back to the outside of the carport, so that means the conduits going to the basement had to be dug up and shortened about 8' of course everything under there was in the way! Tomorrow I'll go to Lowes and get some elbows and other parts to finish, then I can mount my regulators and fuel lines, this means that Pat's propane stove in the basement will work and she can officially start using her canning kitchen!!!

I spent some time in the shop this morning working on the three wheeler while I was waiting on Josh to get here.

I cut some more frame away from both frames, it's going to work well I believe!

I have a buddy in town that owns a motorcycle shop, he has a warehouse full of old bikes so I'm going to see if he has a front wheel or many a whole front end.

Dalton and his son are in love with it, he said this was his favorite build so far!

It's been raining for two days so the trenching is on hold!

We went to Couhutta Georgia today to pass out car show flyers, although it rained the locals were still at the cruise in.

While I was there I met a pinstriper named Rabbit!

He said he would be glad to attend our show, He will set up a tent and pinstripe anything that you bring to him. I saw some of his work and he's good!

I did a little cutting on the top of the frame today, I'm trying to get all of the points connected and get the mono shock mounted. I need a longer backbone so I went looking for pipe, I think I found a piece but I got too hot and quit for the day.

Haven't felt like doing much this past week, I am doing my prep right now as I have to be at the surgery center at 7:30 in the morning for a colonoscopy, OH Joy!
My chicks have outgrown there water tank in the shop, so I have slowly been building a new coop.

It's a lean-to on the back of the old coop.
20230821_162722.jpg
I thought I had another feed bucket but I couldn't find it so I built a new one.
20230821_162738.jpg
Pat's daughter gets me these frosting buckets from the bakery where she works, I had these pvc stubs in the shop, I trimmed them to fit and hot glued them in place.

The chicks took to it right away, I'll only keep them in here until I sell the other chickens, then this will be where I put the dust bath.

I am going to add another piece of 3 ft. metal to the corner on the right, that is west facing and the rain will blow in.

at least you had a better experience than me. I was scheduled for the colonoscopy at 9 am. Got into the gown and waited for the call. After a bit someone nearby started gagging (scope down the throat). Seems things were so bad that the doc had to take her to the hospital. Didn't get the colonoscopy until about 3 PM. No smart phones in those days to amuse me while waiting.

I spent the day cleaning rusty plaques for the car show.
20230823_152520.jpg
This is what they will look like when We are done.
We had these cut about five years ago for another show that didn't happen, they were given to another club that wanted them (so bad) then they traveled around a bit then came back home, now they are rusty and water stained. I treated them with muriatic acid then used a combination of grinder, wire brush, and 120 grit on a da sander. Now they are at powder coat, I'll get them back in a couple of days and Pat and I will apply the stickers. Oh Joy!

I have a new neighbor, his name is Chester, Chester is a mechanic from Michigan, I hired him to replace the oil cooler in my superduty that Strouty warned me about!
20230824_190723.jpg
It was 90 something today with a heat index of 105 but Chester got most of it disassembled. I went to the parts store and layed out about 600 for new parts and fluids, that gold antifreeze is as expensive as real gold, and it takes 7 gallons!!!

I went to the scrap yard last week and bought this Yamaha for the front end, I got it cut off and in the shop, ready to mount it on the three wheeler.
I'm hoping tomorrow that I get to just stay in the shop all day, it's supposed to really be hot tomorrow!
