I am not a fan of red, personal preference, if you painted it black, it will be easy to touch up later without having to worry about the red matching the hood. It looks like the plastic is already a different red than the paint, just my opinion, it will look great either way from my backyard...

This is where I got to today, the inside was already black so I freshened it up.

Tomorrow I'll shoot the red.

I'm not sure where I'm going to mask it at yet, leave the black rail or paint the whole side red.

I got two coats on the roll bar, it will be ready to install tomorrow!
Lenny, you never know what will roll out of my shop.

Don, I have been looking for one of these for years, I can get a linear actuator for the dump body from Amazon then I'll be set.

The seat back wasn't right when I bought it, so I made my own.
20230523_133758.jpg
I cut some plywood.
20230523_133807.jpg
Marked the holes, drilled and installed inserts.
20230523_133745.jpg
I cut the vinyl off of the old seat back.
20230523_151208.jpg
Stapled the old vinyl onto the new seat backs, it matched the seat bottom that way!
20230523_181616.jpg
It's all finished and ready to go to work.
20230523_181626.jpg
We are going to plant tomatoes tomorrow, so it got finished in perfect time.

I had a couple hours this morning to work,
20230526_121017.jpg
So I cut a couple pieces of roof tin to finish the peak.
20230526_121008.jpg
I took this pully out of an old hay barn about 30 years ago.
20230526_125746.jpg
Then I started cutting pallet lumber.
20230526_130025.jpg
Fit pretty good.

I got half finished before I had to leave, it's birthday season and we are off to Decatur Tn. For a birthday dinner, not mine, two other family members.
This weekend will be hard to get anything done, all these people just want to party and goof off!

Thanks Kirk, I've carried that thing around for ever, looking for the right spot.

I got a little more done today.
I had to go to Harrison TN. Today, Harrison lodge had there annual car show today and we had to make an appearance and pass out flyers for our show, they had around 200 cars registered in.

Then we went to Chattanooga to another show and passed out more flyers, no pics of that one.
I came home and worked on the shed while I waited on a phone call.

John called and said meet him at his Dad's place at 5:00, I got 50 Bobwhite quail from him, John got 250, a friend of his hatched out 1000 from last night to 3:00 this morning!
Now I need to build a coop for them. Aaron brought his Dingo over this evening for me to use tomorrow at the bills place, he wants to put an addition on his garage.

You'll need a full enclosure, or they'll fly away. Don't ask.

Are you going to be eating them? I seem to remember something about bad knees being exacerbated by eating quail meat.

AZ, I saw that you had them started, what's your plan, build a coop? I went to John's yesterday and saw his setup, I like how his is done and I will build a version of his.
Kay, not sure right now, there seems to be a market for them so setting up a breeding/ laying area is the start, my Dad used to quail hunt, I love eating them.
Kirk, the toy is coming along nice, really don't know how I got along without it.

I have to remove the rotator from my incubator today, I have 20+ chicken eggs in it, I'm going to gift them to my butcher if they hatch out.

I spent the whole day with the bil!
He wants to fence his back yard but he has these drainage ditches, there is a really big hill behind his garage that drops a lot of water into his yard.
20230528_112049.jpg
There are two of them and they dip down about a ft.
20230528_112053.jpg
We bought 50' of 4" pvc, 30' went in one ditch and 20' in the other. More to come!
20230528_105428.jpg
And he wants to put an addition on his garage, so the pad had to be cut down on one side.
20230528_192047.jpg
and built up on the other side. You can't tell from this shot but I raised this corner 22"
20230528_140746.jpg
We needed a lot of fill so I cut the infamous hill back about 6' and used that to raise the corner of the pad and.
20230528_192104.jpg
To bury the 50' of pvc pipe, now this area is flat enough to install a chain link fence.

Well. My wife kind of sprung them on me so no real "plan". I have 3 full enclosure so we will clear one out for the meantime.

I have the hookup on a free giant playground. A local church has a big playset that is getting replaced so I'm gonna go at least take all the towers and roofs and whatever plastic tubes and such are salvageable and I'll somehow McGyver all that into something new 🤣
