Your hillmans along the left... I have about 30 of those five drawer cabinets... A TON of the larger/deeper drawer units... Your durham drawers... yea... I have that many but in SMALL... not large. I only have a few of the large ones... Stanley parts bins... about 40...

My thing... all of my parts organizers are scattered all over the garage. I wish I had the space you have. I would kill for your out building. Imagine your world... pressed into a 2 car garage.

Yes, I came from a 2 car garage and my ex insisted on parking the mini van in it. It was impossible to do anything there, I kept most of my stuff in storage for about 9 years. I made sure Pat didnt expect to park inside before I married her. And I have an acre of land here. That was the plan when we bought it was to build a big shop and Pat wanted the basement for a canning kitchen so she could have a more industrial space and not put extra wear on the main kitchen. I love that woman.

Got a decent amount done today for an old guy.
20201019_144018.jpeg
I made a couple of adjustments in my plan first thing. I shortened everything by six inches this gives me a three inch concrete border around the outside of the gazebo. That will allow the mower deck to trim up to the slab. I hate weed eating.
20201019_144852.jpeg
Cut 2- 20' 2"x 2" square tube to 134" squared them and clamped them to the table.
20201019_172839.jpeg
Start by tacking the pickets in place
20201019_175756.jpeg
After tacking the first picket in place I use these gauges to space the rest of them, I use a slight pull with my hand to keep everyone stretched to the outside of the gauge.
20201019_175757.jpeg
One on each end keeps things square
20201019_172931.jpeg
Weld the top and one side then flip it over and weld the top and one side again then you are not fighting to weld backwards.

I started on the second section. Cut the rails and clamped them to the first one and started laying out pickets.
20201019_185305.jpeg
Clamped the rails together
20201019_185328.jpeg
I didnt cover this on the first one but the 5/8" square tube was put on the table first before the pickets this center's the picket on the 2" top and bottom rail. So when you stack rails to duplicate them you need 2- 5/8" square tubes to center the second unit.
20201019_185318.jpeg
Top and bottom rails clamped together, first picket set on spacers and two framing squares are used to locate it to the bottom unit. Weld it in place then use small jigs to locate the rest of pickets. Piece of cake!

Got the new tubes for the front tires for the gasser project.
Don I got a lot side tracked with the 411 yard sale and repainting my trailer. I hadent planned that but it sure opened some space in the shop.
I have about got my bil's car ready to go home and open up more space.
It was 75 deg. And 100% humidity today, so not bad but the welding hood kept fogging up.

I know enough about this internet stuff to be dangerous, I bought an Alexa because the mountains block the good radio stations and I cant work without music. Then I found out I could Jack Alexa into the stereo then I found these wall outlet sockets that she can turn on and off, Its a viscous trap I fell into.

Well, see, um, the welding gloves just dont work well with the clapper, yea that's it. LOL

Very true Mac!

What always gets me is that if my wife and I talk about something over dinner, next time I'm online, I get ads for whatever we were talking about!

I have 5 Alexas, 2 TVs that listen... 2 of the Alexas are Shows... so they are watching too...

And YES... I noticed pointed ads based on things we discussed. OR googled... how does the Alexa Show KNOW I googled something on my laptop? Do they share info... I also have 11 blink cameras across 3 zones...

Want privacy... ? Come stay the weekend :pimpflash :D

Our only Alexa is in my office. My wife comes in, leans over and inches from the Echo Spot yells "Alexa, what's the weather?" When Alexa is done babbling about the weather she says "Have a nice day Bob" and I get the stink-eye. Liane keeps looking for some kind of soft hole in the Echo.

Worked on the jeep for a few minutes and found out I had the wrong p/s hose again so back to napa and they couldn't locate the right one. I'm having a custom branded line made it should be here next week.

Stopped and got some slicks from my buddy, he builds custom race carts.

Got some work accomplished today. I started by cutting down a piece of square tube to make my slide joints it is easier and quicker to do it this way than a 30 mile round trip to pick up 2 ft. Piece of tubing.
20201030_131024.jpeg
This is the finished piece now I'll back up and make it.

20201030_180610.jpeg
I had to take out almost 3/8" to shrink it enough to work
20201030_125514.jpeg
The second cut, the first and second cut had to be done to two pieces.
20201030_130521.jpeg
Just a quick pass with the welder I only need them together for cutting.
20201030_142552.jpeg
They are cut into 2" pieces and welded inside to the structure.
20201030_142600.jpeg
Just an oversized tack weld.
20201030_180141.jpeg
These are being welded to the right and left sides and are to support the back panel and the overhead rails on the front and back. It is being built in pieces so it will fit in the powder coat oven.

It's starting to get large in here
20201030_183107.jpeg
This is the finished post
20201030_183123.jpeg
It will get welded to the right side rear corner
20201030_183141.jpeg
The right side. I still have to plas out the feet that will also anchor it to the concrete. Almost forgot, I need to run electric up this leg for the light so I need to drill and weld a bung on also.
20201030_175306.jpeg
The front will have an 18" turn in just for looks.
20201030_175254.jpeg
I just used box joints and capped the two turn ins, Easier than doing the math.
20201030_180001.jpeg
All capped up.
20201030_180056.jpeg
A couple more small details and the right will be done.
