Ok, I took another left turn today. I fixed the tubing bender Donnie gave me so I had to see if it would work. It never had instructions and there is no name printed on any piece of it so I had to watch some YouTube videos to figure out how to put it together.
So this is what I came up with.
I have been wanting to install my lights on the shop but I needed the gooseneck pipes and they were over 50 bucks each at the supply house.
So I bent up some old pipe I had been saving for this project.
Got out my pipe threading set.
Threaded both ends.
I really didnt like the first attempt.
Too low, dosnt look right.

I made three of these, they look right
Much better, about 6" higher also.
Stacked all three, they are pretty close. I'll take them to powder coat tomorrow for a coat of white.

Jim: I agree the last pipe bends putting the light up a bit higher really do look better. WELL DONE!!

Good looking light mounts. IF I bent them they would all be different.
Nicely done...and agree the gooseneck getting them up higher looks better! And stellar work getting them consistent...I'd probably be too embarrassed to share the pile of scrap I'd have before I got things right trying to bend those!

I always wondered why they were bent in that "?" shape. I bent mine in the "?" shape because I thought the shape looked better, not even worrying about the height. Nice job.

HJ, I must agree with the others that the second attempt looks better. It's a little higher and also farther from the post, which I like better. Impressive when you compare all of them and they all match. 
Look at you, thinking ahead and planning for the lights when you installed those posts. That's a real clean looking install.

Thanks guys I do appreciate the feedback. The front of the shop is slowly turning into a Sinclair gas station. I have two very different style of pumps to build, I have been collecting parts for a while. The lights are the right color just by chance.
Yep Jay I welded those bungs on the pipe before powder coating them and pulled the wire in when I set them. I have it built in my mind I just have to think about it before I make something to be sure I dont forget a piece, it actually works some of the time, LOL.

Necks turned out great. My attempt was a J like your first one. I didn’t have good tools to do the bending. Did you use the yellow bender to make the goose necks? Is so what did you use for a die??

The die is a series of plates that bolt together to form whatever style you want. It came with two plastic cases of parts. I'll post some better pics.
Thanks Don, I'm trying to get back in the swing of it. I still feel about half a bubble off. I ordered some repop gas pump parts to help with motivation and I recieved my wet sand paper order today, it is an assortment that goes to 3000 grit I should be able to get those rims looking better.

If you still don't have the pipe bending tools, but you have torches, it would be a pretty easy job to do. Dry some sand, pack the pipe/tubing with the sand. heat to a dull red and bend. Left out a lot of details, let me know if you want them.

Hey Jim,
I acuataly built 4 powered peddle cars one each for my 4 grand kids and given to them on their 1st birthday, the oldest is now 15 taking drivers ed. Here are some pictures of the dewalt drill application with a little help from McMaster Carr I was able to use a chain drive. You will see a picture of a 13/16 socket on a lever over the rear axel I found out early if you have a solid rear axel the kids can't steer it.
The socket would slide over a lug nut to engage the axel. this allowed someone to place it in neutral so to pull the car we found that the battery would only last about 20 minutes around the block so a tow rope could then be used to pull them back home incase the battery went dead. I'll see if I can find some of the video I have it is amaze what a child less that a year old can learn to do.

Ok, I finally got to the shop today. I powder blasted an antique pop corn popper for Pat, it will be for decorative purposes, forgot the before pic.
I was able to get one of the shop porch lights installed today hopefully I will get to the others tomorrow.

The light looks great.
Its quite the difference from your avatar pic to the current. All for the better. I have always liked an overhand over a garage door. My dads shop has a deck over the garage entrance and that is a great place to work in the summer out of the sun.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I didnt get a chance to get to the shop today, I took Pat to Lowe's and picked out some cabinets for the laundry room. Got them up and she is putting shelf paper on them.

Thanks for reading through. If the rain came from the east it would run in the shop, the guy that poured the floor didnt brake it down at the door. But now I'm glad because it cooled that area down a lot and I sit on my bench out there quite often now.
Going to try again tomorrow.

I got the other two lights installed today. Dalton is going to come over Saturday and trench the wire in. I'll need to run a new 20 amp circuit out to where the gas pump is going.

Hard to find an angle to get all three.
Started raking the gravel back. I will need to run under the bench to get into the shop.
Going to repaint the bench and install new tail lights this summer.

Working taillights on the bench, but unless the sheetmetal is straight, I'd leave the patina look. But that's why it's your shop, and not mine.

The plan for now is they will eventually be hooked to a motion sensor.

The plan was to leave it alone but the orange didnt bond to the original green (I didnt paint it) and it is coming off in chunks. Plus Pat's OCD is twitching so I will need to do something. Just not sure how much yet.

Jim: I love the old tailgate bench. sorry to hear you might have to remove, paint and re install cause some other guy's work isn't or wasn't up to your standards. that said it might be a good time to find a different color you like better.

It was ok at first but the shop is evolving again and time to drag everything along kicking and screaming. The truck was originally 1970 chevy 504 yellow green poly and with all the other green accent on the property it seems a natural. A summer time project for sure.
