my advice to you sir is buy the seats you like and put them in a corner so when you are ready to install seats you can say:

"honey will these work or should we spend a few months looking for ones you like better"

in any case it sounds like you've got a lot of work to do the FRANKENTRUCK before you get to the interior.

nice welding job as per usual the neighbor's old frame!!

enjoy your day as I'm sure you will.

Ok the Chevelle frame went to powder coat today so on to the next project.
20210222_150224.jpeg
The neighbor with the Chevelle gave me this well tank.
20210222_152017.jpeg
It came from Mills Lupton company in Chattanooga. My dear friend Fred Luptons (RIP) Grandfather was one of the two men that went to Atlanta and bought the bottling rights to CocaCola and opened Dixie bottling. They had there hands in lots of things.

Took all of the fittings out.

Cut the top off.

Then I found this wheel Barrow rim in the stock pile out back.
20210222_155637.jpeg
I chucked it up in the vise and split it in half.
20210222_160734.jpeg
Then I ground the weld seam down.
20210222_161500.jpeg
The remainder of the other half came out and I finished cleaning the remaining piece.
20210222_162529.jpeg
Cleaned up nice.
20210222_162725.jpeg
Eventually I will weld the two pieces together.

20210222_162243.jpeg
Then it will get welded to the tank.
Get ready Kay here it comes.

That looks like it is going to be quite a lamp. What will be the base? Are you planning on a petroliana themed globe?

I knew you had a plan!!

I'm actually getting the popcorn popper ready so i'll be able to sit and watch the show of the new FRANKENTRUCK you are planning to put together.

I was also wondering what you were doing with the tank and wheelbarrow rim and i'm sure it will look great when it's done.

good luck too cause we all need a little or in my case A LOT.

cheers

I got a good start on the volunteer job today. The floor had me worried but once we got the laminate flooring removed the rot was contained to less than a 4'x 8' sheet of 3/4" plywood. A neighbor gave me a sheet a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfect.

Here is where we started.

Plywood installed

We got most of the underlayment installed before I ran out of gas and my back locked up on me.
We are going to try to get the vinyl down tomorrow.

Jim, you need to slow down, you are making us all look bad!

I know how you feel about being worried about what lies under the top level of flooring. When we moved into our place, the tub upstairs was leaking and I knew I had a project on my hands. It ended up being about half of the bathroom floor being bad, it was a ton of work, but not as bad as I was thinking.

Thanks guys,
I got some help from my other bil (pickle) and Pat, Kayla, and Heather are painting.
The floor and underlayment are finished. The girls are painting the ceiling while pickle and me take a break then we are going to install the vinyl flooring before we go home tonight.

Dang it I was reading too quick. I thought all those cute critters were yours. speaking of that I can't recall if you have any or how many so do you have any of your own? with as many friends and neighbors that you have around you hardly need a pet to keep you company.

cheers

The Granddaughter has Hefe, they live with us, he is a hoot, he tries to protect the girls from me. He has little dog syndrome.
Mason is 135 lb German shepherd that lives next door, he is my buddy.
We really dont have time for a pet with all that we have going on it wouldn't be fair to the pet.

Hefe travels well so he is on the console of what ever truck is leaving.

I like you advice, it's always spot on.
I bought these about four years ago on speculation, they are low back 6 way power w/lumbar out of a 2004ish Lincoln Navigator. They will do for mock up, wink, wink.

After posting the last post I finished reading your adventures. you sure stay busy helping others. Very giving of you.
Those residents you are working for are the lucky ones. I have a soft spot for the furry critters too.

Chico is the oldest resident at the Ark, while Pat and I were working tonight the phone rang and the answering machine picked up and a lady wants to adopt him so she is coming in next week and if Chico wants to leave with her he can, if he dosnt want to go out the door with her, she cant have him. Sounds crazy but that's how it works.
