I finished the stair rails today, thought I would spare you all the pics.

I like to draw the stair rails on the bench with soap stone and cut the pieces to fit the picture.

They are going to PC tomorrow with the Gazebo. Dalton said they were going to do everything by Saturday. So I may assemble some of it Saturday afternoon.

Cart Scooter is looking good. I was planning on keeping my plastic but will reevaluate that after seeing what you’ve done. Also have a shopping cart but I imagine I won’t covert to a seat.

Had a great day, I hooked up a battery charger to the shopping cart.

Started cutting limbs that looked dangerous, this one was hanging over Kayla's camper.

This one was hanging over the driveway and patio, it took out a bunch of my cactus when it fell, my bil was on the saw, we wont talk about it.

This one was hanging over the sun porch, I cut it and it swung 15' away from the house before it hit the ground.

I'll have enough hard wood cut and stacked by next week to last through next winter.

The tall pines behind the trailer are 60 to 70 ft. tall three of them are dead and they are coming down this year also.

The bil's gf wanted some stepping pads around there koi pond so the bil cut a lawn trailer load and I hauled them next door and dumped them.

We cut wood and haul brush all day. This is the stack of wood that we put out back. I'm set for next winter.

I have a 30 foot dead pine on the edge of my property... I don't want to take it down because an eagle has landed on the broken top several times. A hawk lands there too... and a Vulture named after my sister in law but that's a whole story in itself.

My firewood is limited to what falls off my trees... Alltho a few oaks need to be taken down this year...

All the land here 100 years ago were strip cleared and "burned" to make charcoal. Then the forests were replanted with Pine, Pin Oak, Chestnut Oak. The forest cover was planted with BearBerry... that was used to develop the first blueberry plants. So there are no forests here older than 70 years.

Everything went together without a problem, I welded symbols into each corner so lining up the correct ends was easy.

your GAZEBO is looking real nice!!

firewood for years and even though your BIL isn't maybe the best with his chainsaw he looks like he gets after it and GETS R DONE.

keep up the great work and I know that the owners of the ARK are thankful you showed up. custom steel hand railings don't come cheap.

We are slow here, it took almost a year from when I bought the steel to this point, it may be a day or two! This area has a lot of paper mill land, they cut acres of pines all around here then replant saplings daily. It's funny to see 40' pines all in straight rows from being planted like farm crops.

HJ that gazebo is going to look great in that spot. I’m anxiously awaiting the install of the roof panels to finish it off, I’ll bet you are too.
How did you design the splice areas of the gazebo? IIRC you used a smaller piece of square tube welded into one side of the joint and this fits into the adjacent piece and is somehow fastened together? What are the sizes of tube you used? :beer:

I used some scrap drops from the 2" square tube and cut them down so they would fit inside of the rail. The whole thing is held together with self tapping steel screws, I'll get a pic tonorrow.

I ordered steel for several projects last year and I still have one to finish after the gazebo. The price has doubled, glad I bought it then.

Yes a gazebo with a basement, hobbit house our grandaughter has claimed it for her workshop, she makes jewelry. Her rock tumbler is the first thing going in there.

I worked on the speedy shopping cart today. I changed the front axle and frame section, it wasn't very heavy duty looking, then I cut out the battery box and built a new one, it will have a flat top on it which will also serve as the floor for the cargo area. I added sides and a tailgate to the cargo area also. It is about ready to be stripped down for finish sanding and paint. But that may not happen this week the Granddaughter is having the crew from the Ark over Saturday night for a bbq so the pressure is on to finish the gazebo this week.

Hey Wordman, how have you been.

I picked up my metal this morning, it was raining pretty good. I'm glad I built the porch on the front othe shop last year I was able to unload in the dry.
I have assembled three of the four roof panels, I ran out of gas but I'll get the other one skinned in the morning. Hoping the bil will help me set them in place tomorrow.

The first one I did was the back panel it had to have wiring for the fan so it was fished in and taped out of the way.

Each panel was set in place, squared and marked with a pencil.

As I cut each piece I marked the screw holes with a drywall square and dots from a sharpie. Then screwed each one down.

7/8" was the shortest screws they had. Worked perfect.
